Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access. We make it easy for people to find quality in-network mental health care by removing historic barriers faced by mental health providers, payers, and patients. 1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the vast majority do not get the care they need. The primary reason is cost: the majority of therapists do not accept insurance, meaning paying for therapy is prohibitively expensive for prospective patients. This is where we got our start – Headway has built the first software-enabled network of therapists who accept health insurance, making it easy for therapists to grow their practices, and possible for patients to find quality care they can afford. Headway was founded in 2019. Since then, we’ve grown into a diverse, national network of over 34,000 mental healthcare providers across all 50 states who run their practice on our software. We’re a Series D company with over $325m in funding from a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), Accel, GV (formerly Google Ventures), Spark Capital, Thrive Capital, Forerunner Ventures and Health Care Service Corporation. We believe a team's strength is in its people, and we cannot achieve this mission without a team that reflects the diversity of this problem - across race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, national origin, religion, family status, disability, military status, and experience. Headway employees work remotely across the US, with the option to work from our NYC HQ or SF location. Headway is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals. As part of this commitment, Headway will ensure that persons with disabilities are provided with reasonable accommodations. If reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and/or to receive other benefits and privileges of employment, please contact [email protected].

We’re on a mission to eliminate waste for good, starting with the food that ends up in landfills. Did you know that more than half of the food in landfills comes from home kitchens (ReFED)? And food in landfills turns into methane – which is 80x more potent than CO2 over a 20-year period (IPCC). At Mill, we’re working to turn kitchen scraps into food for chickens. This keeps food in our food system and out of landfills.
Transformations of the Human (ToftH) was founded in 2021, by Tobias Rees and Kim Newman, as a California non-profit educational organization (501c3). It is designed to introduce a new practice to the world, one that does not yet exist and has only recently become possible: the practice of doing philosophy. ToftH is composed of the ToftH School (“the School”) and ToftH Research Corporation (“TRC”), a for-profit subsidiary. The ToftH Research Corporation (TRC) is an AI product insight company. We combine our unique proprietary method for identifying the new –– doing philosophy –– and a novel approach to UXR to provide insights for tech companies on how to build powerful AI products. TRC was established in support of two goals: (i) to build a company on the basis of ToftH-style work that can generate revenue and fund ToftH School; (ii) to prove that by building products in terms of their philosophical newness, one can produce new value and markets. The main work streams of TRC include consulting with external clients, and internal research and product development. Our work combines philosophy, art and technology in order to build PArT projects, products, practitioners and companies for the new.

We want to radically improve how we humans communicate with each other. Our first step at Ava is to empower 466M deaf and hard-of-hearing people to live in a fully accessible world. Every day, millions of people are excluded from conversations because they cannot hear what others say well. Our CEO Thibault grew up in a Deaf family & witnessed firsthand how the world was not accessible for them. Together with our CTO Skinner — deaf since age 2 — Thibault co-founded Ava to make live captioning of conversations as easy as turning on captions on TV. Our small but fast-growing team has reinvented AI-based speech recognition technology to be in service of people who need it the most. We dream of a 24/7 accessible world, without any communication barrier. In this pursuit, we're seeing how critical communication skills are, yet very far from ideal, to unleash our collective potential. This is for us the ultimate barrier we need to lift. Our belief is that well-designed technology can help everyone communicate and connect better — much more effectively & authentically — so humanity can achieve the greatest things together.
