Role Overview

We are seeking an individual experienced in Payroll Manager to help manage and scale our global payroll operations to meet the tremendous growth of the company. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-growth start-up, is detail-oriented, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This person will be someone who can perform the operational work efficiently while simultaneously building and scaling for future growth.


What You'll Do

Payroll:

  • Accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

  • Collaborate with People Ops to manage the payroll components of employee benefits programs such as health, dental, vision insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored benefits

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll inquiries

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records for internal and external audits and assist with compliance audits as needed. Ensure the confidentiality and security of data, maintaining data integrity and accuracy of employee records

  • Assist with month-end close tasks related to payroll, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Guide the company through HRIS and Payroll systems implementations

  • Implement EOR services for ex-US payroll flexibility as precursor to global payroll process

Other (nice to haves):

  • Manage Accounts Payable process using Zip

  • Assist with procurement requests by ensuring that requests are completed, that approvals are happening timely

  • Review and approve vendor onboarding requests

  • Manage expense reimbursement process

  • Perform backup duties in portions of the Stock Administration process

What You Have

  • 6+ years of payroll experience, preferably with 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Bachelors degree (Business or related preferred)

  • CPP highly preferred

  • Experience implementing or operating within a Workday HRIS environment

  • Experience with payroll accounting, tax, etc 

  • Intermediate knowledge of excel, google sheets, etc.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with utmost professionalism.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast- paced environment.

  • Problem-solving attitude with the ability to adapt to changing requirements and work under pressure.

  • Sense of urgency around the global payroll process and comfort supporting multiple time zones

Compensation Range

$145,000 -175,000 USD
