The Company:

Outschool’s mission is to inspire kids to love learning. In our fast-changing world, the traditional educational system struggles to meet the diverse and evolving needs of young learners. Outschool reimagines this system, offering flexible and engaging learning experiences as a supplement and alternative to traditional education. By connecting learners with a global community of teachers and peers through our online platform, we make learning personal, dynamic, and deeply human.

We've made significant strides since launching our marketplace of live online classes in 2017. Finding initial success with secular homeschoolers, we then expanded to enrichment learning to meet the needs of a wider audience, growing our business 16x since 2019. Post-pandemic, we have evolved our platform to power academic learning, incorporated AI, and have begun to grow our international community. We're proud to have served over 1M passionate learners with more than $100M in annual bookings.

Driving disruptive, positive change in education is rewarding and hard. Outschool team members are encouraged to challenge themselves, take risks, and grow in their careers. We look for talented people whose sense of urgency, innate curiosity, and determination to drive impact will help Outschool achieve outsized results in pursuit of our mission. We invite you to be part of an ambitious team dedicated to ensuring every learner can navigate the future with curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning.

Outschool has been named Fast Company’s most innovative EdTech company in the world, and one of the top ten best startups for women from Elpha. Outschool has also been one of BuiltIn’s Best Remote Places to Work for the last two years and has appeared on Y Combinator’s Top Companies list for the last three years.

The Role

We’re looking for a Brand & Product Marketing Lead who’s equal parts strategist, storyteller, and operator. This isn’t just another marketing role—it’s a chance to shape how our cutting-edge, tech-forward product is perceived and embraced by parents worldwide. Your work will directly impact how we revolutionize education, building trust, loyalty, and excitement around everything we create.

We’re looking for someone bold. Someone who can take a big vision and turn it into clear, actionable, and high-impact marketing. You’ll craft campaigns that inspire, lead product launches that resonate with precision, and create customer experiences that build lasting loyalty.

At other companies, this role would be equivalent to a senior position. At Outschool we have decided to take an unconventional approach to titling that aligns with our values and is focused on impact above status. You can learn more about our titling philosophy here.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write the playbook: Develop and execute brand and product marketing strategies that make us impossible to ignore. From compelling campaigns that connect emotionally to growth-driven launches, you’ll define how we show up.
  • Lead unforgettable product launches: Partner with product and growth teams to deliver go-to-market strategies that are creative, precise, and highly effective.
  • Understand our audience and the market: Be the ultimate advocate for our customers. Leverage insights, research, and competitive analysis to position our products as must-haves, not just nice-to-haves.
  • Collaborate and inspire across teams: Work closely with product, design, growth, and customer success teams to create a cohesive, on-brand customer journey from awareness to retention.
  • Measure, learn, evolve: Define clear goals, analyze results, and iterate. You’ll experiment, learn from data, and continuously improve until great becomes exceptional.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • You’ve worked in consumer businesses that are tech-forward, data-driven, and customer-obsessed.
  • You’re a natural storyteller—whether it’s a brand campaign or a product launch, you know how to create messaging that sticks, inspires, and drives action.
  • You thrive at the intersection of strategy and execution. Big ideas are important, but you know how to make them happen.
  • You’re a player coach and can be hands on for our startup environment
  • Collaboration is second nature to you. You work seamlessly across teams as a partner, problem-solver, and someone who makes processes smoother, not harder.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Experience with subscription businesses or loyalty programs where customer retention was as critical as acquisition.
  • Startup experience—you know how to thrive in fast-moving, ever-evolving environments where change is constant, and ambiguity motivates you rather than slowing you down
  • You’ve managed in-house teams and partnered with agencies
