 The Tax Systems Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, support, and optimization of tax technology systems, ensuring smooth operations and data integrity. This role is hands-on, focusing on system troubleshooting, user support, data management, and process execution. The ideal candidate will have experience with CCH tax software and will work closely with tax and IT teams to ensure efficiency, compliance, and seamless user adoption.



System Management & Maintenance:

  • Oversee the daily functionality of CCH tax software, ensuring systems are running smoothly.
  • Support system updates, patches, and enhancements, working with IT and external vendors.
  • Maintain system security and data integrity, ensuring compliance with firm policies and tax regulations.

User Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Act as the go-to resource for tax professionals using CCH Axcess, Engagement and other core platforms.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support, escalating complex issues to IT or vendors as needed.
  • Assist with user setup, permissions, and configurations to ensure proper system access.
  • Offer guidance on best practices for tax software usage to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Handle data imports, exports, and migrations within CCH and other tax platforms.
  • Generate standard and ad-hoc reports for tax teams and leadership.
  • Assist in compliance-related system updates, ensuring tax software reflects current regulations

Process Execution & Documentation:

  • Document system processes, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for internal reference.
  • Support workflow standardization to improve tax technology efficiency.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance system performance and usability.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience working with tax technology systems.
  • Proficiency in CCH Axcess and CCH ProSystem fx Engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with tax technology systems.
  • Experience with system administration, data management, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to assist tax professionals with software-related inquiries and technical needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes for system maintenance and updates.
