Job Description
Cash App has grown rapidly to tens of millions of users moving billions of dollars daily.To support this incredible growth, we are growing the Identity organization. Our mission is to create a customer identity framework that supports Cash App's growth while maintaining high levels of customer, partner, and regulatory trust. We work with some of our customer's most sensitive data, and we take privacy and security seriously. Our organization plays a critical role in providing financial access to customers who are underserved by traditional financial institutions, and we are committed to creating a seamless and secure user experience. This is a server engineering team that works cross-functionally with a variety of disciplines - client engineering, design, product, data science, compliance and legal.

The Identity Verifications team designs and builds solutions that help customers onboard to Cash App. We focus on the initial collection and verification of information that allows customers to access our suite of financial products.
The Identity Lifecycle team designs and builds scalable solutions to manage customer identity information. We focus on supporting our customers beyond the initial onboarding stage.

  • Design, Build and Support the core systems used to manage identity on Cash App
  • Build and design an identity system that is scalable, secure, and reliable
  • Creatively solve challenging technical problems at scale
  • Leverage industry-leading identify verification technologies
  • Be involved in defining and implementing an expanding roadmap
  • Collaborate closely with Compliance and Legal teams to support audits and implement regulatory controls
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to provide support for our services


Qualifications

  • 8+ years working on complex systems and delivering quality software
  • Well-developed curiosity and enjoy building creative solutions to complex problems
  • Worked on systems where data consistency and availability is required
  • Taken technical initiative on previous projects
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in the full software development life cycle
  • Strong communication skills and customer empathy
  • Contributing to the growth of our development capabilities through leading, mentoring and supporting fellow engineers

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $198,000 - USD $297,000
Zone B: USD $188,100 - USD $282,100
Zone C: USD $178,200 - USD $267,400
Zone D: USD $168,300 - USD $252,500
