About the role:

We're seeking a motivated and experienced SEO Content Marketing Lead to raise the bar on our search engine optimization efforts. You'll play a pivotal role in growing our online visibility across the web, driving organic growth, and improving our search engine rankings. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing successful SEO programs, a deep understanding of current SEO best practices, a curiosity to keep up with rapid industry changes including AI, strong communication skills, and the ability to work across teams to link the impact of SEO to the overall growth of HoneyBook’s business.

This role is hybrid to our SF office, 2-3 days per week (current expectation is Wednesdays and Thursdays in-office).

Here are some things you’ll be working on:

  • Build an SEO plan that aligns long-term SEO strategies with business objectives and identifies new opportunities to capture organic market share via keyword research, competitive analysis, audience analysis, and content development.
  • Implement SEO strategies that improve keyword rankings across major search engines and increase organic traffic to HoneyBook domains. This includes but is not limited to on-page optimizations, page and blog post development, and link building.
  • Determine and establish the right AI tools that enhance our SEO strategy and improve effectiveness, ensuring our approach remains innovative and competitive.
  • Develop new, and optimize existing content in partnership with editorial and website leads to enhance authority and organic rankings, in alignment with the broader content strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing peers and engineering stakeholders to launch growth initiatives, oversee the implementation of SEO best practices, and address technical issues.
  • Monitor site performance through regular audits to ensure optimal user experience, site structure, indexation, and crawlability, and to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key SEO metrics, including organic traffic, keyword ranking, conversion rates, and other relevant data, to measure performance and identify opportunities.
  • Surface and navigate industry changes to keep the team current with emerging SEO trends, algorithm changes, and shifting best practices, especially related to AI.

Here is what we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • SEO expertise: you are an experienced SEO professional with a demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful campaigns that drive organic growth.
  • Proactive: you actively seek to uncover new trends, are curious about AI, and explore emerging technologies to enhance efficiency, creativity and innovation.
  • Business-first approach: you are rigorous about how your strategies align to company objectives and can measure progress towards these goals.
  • Data-driven: you have strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to generate actionable insights. You focus on metrics that matter most to performance in order to ensure your efforts lead to measurable and meaningful impact.
  • Content-savvy: you’re comfortable developing content, whether that’s optimizing on-page copy, cleaning up meta data and descriptions, or writing and editing. You know how to use words to establish authority, engage, and rank.
  • Excellent communicator: you’re able to articulate SEO strategies and results clearly to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making in the best interest of our growth goals.
  • Strategic collaborator: you know how to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver the highest quality work.
  • Trend-aware: you’re constantly curious about how the industry is shifting and changing and seek to stay ahead of trends so that your strategies remain competitive.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated SEO experience
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO tools and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Mixpanel, Looker etc.
  • Proficiency in technical SEO, including experience with website audits, structured data, and mobile-first indexing and how to create efficient tasks for developers when needed.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and content management systems like Webflow (CMS) is preferred.
  • Prior experience in marketing for SaaS or at product-led growth startups is desirable.

The good stuff:

  • Mission-driven: You'll be joining more than just another startup. Our members’ success is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Impact: We move quickly and encourage every employee to push the envelope. Our best ideas come from out-of-the-box thinking and innovation; be ready to fail fast and often!
  • Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and meaningful equity grants.
    • Base pay is $125k-$135k, depending on experience and skills.
  • Benefits & perks: From wellness programs to exceptional family leave policies, the health and happiness of our employees are foremost.

Our core values:

  • People come first: We prioritize people as we explore opportunities and work through challenges.
