As a Senior Product Manager for Equipment Monitoring at Motive, you'll be at the forefront of one of the fastest-growing sectors in the Internet of Things (IoT) category. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape how the physical economy tracks, manages, and optimizes a vast array of equipment – from trailers and refrigerated units to construction equipment and small tools.

You'll develop solutions that provide critical insights to make operations with these equipment types more efficient, productive, and profitable. Key challenges include:

  • Driving up utilization of existing equipment
  • Reducing idle time and optimizing maintenance schedules
  • Preventing theft and misplacement of valuable assets
  • Enabling smoother operations through proactive monitoring

The market opportunity is massive, with significant headroom for growth in this rapidly transitioning sector. Reporting to the Director of Product, Equipment Monitoring, you'll work on full-stack products spanning software, firmware, and hardware. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, possesses strong product sense, and excels at cross-functional collaboration.

  • Develop comprehensive product strategies and roadmaps for equipment monitoring solutions, balancing customer needs, market opportunities, and technical feasibility
  • Engage directly with customers across various verticals to gather feedback, identify pain points, and synthesize insights, distinguishing between individual requests and generalizable needs
  • Create detailed product requirements documents (PRDs) and work closely with engineering teams to scope and prioritize features, navigating technical trade-offs and business implications
  • Support Engineering teams through the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and business objectives
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and product performance metrics to inform data-driven decisions and drive continuous product improvement
  • Collaborate with GTM teams to develop compelling product positioning, go-to-market strategies, and support sales enablement efforts

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a focus on enterprise SaaS products and IoT solutions
  • Strong technical acumen, with the ability to manage conversations across software, firmware, and hardware domains
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling products in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across functions and influence without authority
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, combined with strong product intuition and user empathy
  • You have high “EQ” and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • You are comfortable and confident sharing your thoughts in verbal or written form. You can engage constructively in debate and discussion with different personality types and seniority levels.
  • You are a trailblazer who is humble, kind, and open to learning new stuff. You can take a stand yet commit even when you disagree. You have a strong bias to action
  • Experience working with GTM teams and engaging directly with customers to gather insights and validate product concepts
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field; MBA is a plus
