PagerDuty is looking for a Senior Principal to lead our industry analyst relations (AR) program by building and executing our strategy and nurturing relationships amongst our analyst community. As part of the Corporate Communications team, you will provide strategic support that helps shape our story and grow the program. This is an exciting opportunity as this role will report to the VP of Corporate Communications and work closely with key stakeholders across the company to execute AR strategy and work closely with the industry analyst community to shape our narrative, define our category, brief analysts, and drive critical reports and evaluations. Analyst relations plays a strategic and visible function at PagerDuty, and the ideal candidate will be a collaborative, capable, and driven individual who can jump in and make an impact quickly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Relationship Management - Cultivate and nurture relationships with industry analysts, research firms, and influencers. Serve as the primary point of contact for analysts, ensuring clear communication and understanding of PagerDuty overall as well as the PagerDuty Operations Cloud.
- Messaging and Positioning - Work closely with the product marketing, product management, comms and executive teams to create consistent and compelling messaging that resonates with analysts and aligns with PagerDuty’s overall positioning. Provide guidance on key messages and value propositions to be communicated to analysts.
- Analyst Evaluations - Take the lead for PagerDuty with major analyst reports including Gartner Magic Quadrants, Forrester Waves, IDC Marketscapes, GigaOM Radar Reports and beyond to ensure PagerDuty is well positioned. Leverage analyst relationships to positively influence industry reports, evaluations, and rankings.
- Market Intelligence - Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscapes to provide relevant insights to internal teams. Collaborate with analysts to gather feedback on PagerDuty strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Strategic Planning - Develop and execute a comprehensive analyst relations strategy aligned with the company's business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information and insights to share with analysts.
- Briefings and Engagements - Coordinate and facilitate analyst briefings, inquiries, industry analyst days and interactions, ensuring analysts have the necessary information to accurately assess and represent the company.
- Organize and manage events, webinars, and conferences where analysts are present.
- Prepare and support spokespeople engaging with analysts, including creation of briefing materials, compiling presentation content and staffing calls.
- Maintain AR interactions database and lead measurement of the AR program’s impact on both marketing and sales goals
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years experience in enterprise technology communications, marketing, or product marketing, with a minimum of 5+ years working in Analyst Relations
- Experience in Analyst Relations at a global SaaS company
- Experience with Industry Analyst evaluations including Gartner Magic Quadrants, Forrester Waves, GigaOm, Radar Reports
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven project management, strategic planning, program management and exceptional attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels within the organization.
- Existing relationships with key analysts and influencers in the software industry including Gartner, Forrester Research, and IDC
The base salary range for this position is 168,000 - 262,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.
Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
