Role Description

The Strategic Finance & Analytics (SF&A) team is responsible for providing data-driven insights to inform strategic, financial, and operational decision-making across the company. We’re seeking a Senior Director to lead our Customer Success & Hardware FS&A teams to drive initiatives including business planning, corporate strategy, and strategic projects. This is a high-impact role that will offer substantial senior leadership exposure and the opportunity to drive long-term shareholder value in a hyper-growth environment at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial and strategic thought leadership supported by rigorous analysis, with a focus on business planning, corporate strategy, and capital allocation
  • Facilitate executive decision-making by translating sophisticated analysis into actionable financial & operational recommendations. Examples include: resource prioritization, monitoring leading indicators to predict business outcomes, and helping leaders meet operational goals
  • Own Customer Success & Hardware financial reporting and analytics processes. Examples include: weekly pacing of operational KPIs, monthly P&L reporting, and long-term forecasting of material KPIs
  • Drive strategic initiatives through a combination of business partnering, analytical insight, and project management
  • Lead and develop a team of high-performing finance and analytics professionals
  • Collaborate across all levels of the organization via cross-functional relationships and provide a nuanced understanding of Toast’s business model, including unit economics, customer experience, competitive context, and internal processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 15+ years of experience in finance and analytics: strategic finance, FP&A, or business intelligence, preferably at a high-growth tech company; or equivalent experience
  • Expert in Excel; extensive experience building financial models and analyzing large data sets
  • Excellent communication & experience with Google Suite; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
  • Track record of leading, growing, and developing high-performing teams
  • Effective project management; highly organized, independent, and self-motivated
  • History of building positive relationships with people and teams across a broad, diverse organization
  • Ability to think creatively and critically, and thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous work environment

Bonus Skills

  • SaaS or FinTech industry experience
  • Experience with Pricing & monetization
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python or R

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

Pay Range

$196,000$314,000 USD
