Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Manager, Compensation, the Senior Compensation Analyst handles the development, analysis, implementation, and administration of Wipfli's compensation programs and strategic initiatives about base pay and variable pay programs. Collaborates with all levels of leadership to provide advice and expertise in solving complex business challenges while supporting the overall compensation strategy.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Proactively research, analyze, develops, design, and/or recommend modifications of new and existing compensation programs (e.g., salary and incentive structures, pay policies, etc.) to meet the needs of the firm.
  • Administer compensation plan management (e.g., changes to base pay, short-term and long-term incentives, allowances, sales compensation, etc.)
  • Administer the full life cycle of compensation activities, including survey participation, benchmarking, market pricing, merit and bonus budgeting, and administration of compensation review cycle planning. Evaluate jobs, conduct complex compensation analyses, and develop pay dashboards and other analytics, as needed. Respond to inquiries related to compensation, market competitiveness, job leveling, and position descriptions.
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor for Talent & Culture, business leaders, and other stakeholders on compensation related matters. Proactively act on talent attraction and retention matters and provides end-to-end client advisory services on compensation-related matters.
  • Coordinate survey selection and participation and perform market research to develop and maintain innovative, compliant, and market competitive compensation programs. Make recommendations for survey selection, job grading, pay ranges, etc.
  • Review compensation actions and analyses to ensure internal fairness and external equity and compliance with all applicable regulations. Proactively make recommendations to leadership and partner with legal to ensure compliance and timely response to internal and external audit inquiries. Ensure compliance with minimum wage and FLSA.
  • Manage complex projects, processes, and data analyses while working with limited supervision.
  • Run compensation related presentations and communications (e.g., compensation review cycle training, compensation training for managers, as well as guidance on compensation program features, plans, and options).
  • Drive and/or participate in special projects that drive the firm's attraction and retention initiatives, including acquisition integration, organizational restructuring, systems enhancements/changes, etc.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment in a compensation analysis role


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Workday and Advanced Compensation module.
  • CCP certification preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Experience presenting complex information to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and approach opportunities in a flexible and creative manner.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Highly proficient in Excel
  • Ability to balance many projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines.
  • Ability to hold a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness for completion of projects

Wipfli supports equal pay for equal work and values each candidate's unique experiences and skill sets. The estimated pay range for this position is: $80,000 - $108,000. Compensation within the range is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, individuals' skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business needs and applicable employment laws.
Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
