Our sales team is growing rapidly, and we are looking for an experienced Sales Manager or Director with a background in government, education, or public sector sales to lead and grow a high-performing team focused on driving success in these critical markets.
Please note that this is a hybrid position, requiring 3 days/week in our NYC office.
About The Role:
You will be responsible for building and leading a diverse sales team, including Account Executives, RFP and Bid Managers, and Partner Relations roles. This role involves driving sales execution, improving processes, and ensuring we exceed business performance targets in government, education, and public sector segments. You’ll also play a key role in shaping our go-to-market strategy and building strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a diverse sales team focused on the government, education, and public sector markets.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to exceed performance targets, focusing on ARR growth, pipeline development, and client acquisition.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and legal teams to align on government-specific requirements and opportunities.
- Drive adoption of monday.com’s platform in these markets, tailoring messaging and solutions to meet public sector needs.
- Lead contract negotiations and navigate compliance discussions in collaboration with legal and security teams.
- Identify and prioritize key opportunities, building a scalable and repeatable sales process across varied roles and functions.
- Deliver on team performance metrics, pipeline growth, and forecast accuracy.
Requirements
- 7+ years of sales management experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or public sector sales.
- 5 + years of experience in government, education, or public sector sales (quota-carrying or leadership role preferred).
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, RFPs, and government contracting requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, NASPO, SLED).
- Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing sales teams across varied roles.
- Experience navigating complex sales cycles, including working with legal, procurement, and compliance teams.
- Demonstrated ability to identify decision-makers and influencers in large organizations and build strong, lasting relationships with them.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility with C-level stakeholders.
- A self-starter who is result-oriented, adaptable, inquisitive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- BA and/or MBA preferred or equivalent relevant work experience.

For New York City-based hires only: Compensation Range: $240,000-$270,000 base salary, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. In addition to base salary, the role includes opportunity to receive and/or earn a discretionary bonus and/or equity based on Company’s plans and in accordance with Company’s policies. Compensation finally awarded to the candidate will be commensurate with the candidate’s skills and experience. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of New York City may differ based on the cost of labor and such additional factors for such other locations.
