About this roll*:

The Toast Product Marketing team is responsible for connecting the Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to inform product development and bring new products to market through customer segmentation, value-based messaging, sales knowledge transfer, and cross-functional marketing activation. In this high-impact team, you will gain substantial senior leadership exposure and the opportunity to drive long-term customer and shareholder value at a hyper-growth company.

As the Product Marketing Manager for Retail, you will partner closely with the Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to drive go-to-market (GTM) strategies for the Retail vertical at Toast. You will collaborate on initiatives relating to buyer personas, product positioning and messaging, and qualitative and quantitative insights from customer and market research to inform our longer term roadmap and GTM strategies to unlock food & beverage Retailers (ex. grocery stores, convenience stores, and bottle shops). The ideal candidate has a proven track record of bringing new products to market, driving cross-functional alignment and leadership, and strong critical thinking and analytical skills to excel in a growth environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the go-to-market strategy and launch process and influence product development for new Retail features
  • Become a product and market expert on all things food and beverage Retail, and use that knowledge to craft compelling value based messaging to generate leads and drive conversions
  • Take ownership of cross-functional plans and strategies to drive improvements with product adoption and sales effectiveness
  • Partner with Demand Generation to deepen our brand awareness and create more opportunities with food & beverage Retailers
  • Leverage data to unearth insights into buyer and customer needs and identify market opportunities to inform new marketing and sales strategies for Toast
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement to drive sales productivity through product knowledge transfer, seller collateral, and value-based talk tracks

Do you have the right ingredients*:

  • 5+ years of combined experience in product marketing, product management, operational roles, finance, sales or strategy consulting.
  • Strong ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations across a fast-growing organization
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading cross-functional partnerships with diverse teams to develop strategic plans and achieve desired goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to combine complex content into a clear and cohesive story to gain both internal and external buy-in
  • Data-minded with strong analytical capabilities
  • Proven ability to uncover and deeply understand the needs and desires of customers and translate those learnings into product and go-to-market strategies

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

Pay Range

$117,000-$187,000 USD
