The Opportunity 

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a People Business Partner to join our People team to support our GTM function, specifically Customer Success, Support, Rev Ops and Channel teams. Our People Business Partners provide strategic business partnerships and coaching and develop people-related solutions to meet critical business needs. This is a hands-on role — People Business Partners understand our business, goals, EAGER values, and culture to develop, implement, and continually improve solutions that positively shape the Grammarly team member experience. 

Our team of People Business Partners plays a crucial role in collaborating with managers and leaders to provide people-related programs and solutions, coaching our management team, and shaping the experience of our team members across offices. This position will closely collaborate with a team of People Partners and leadership and managers from our global Finance, Legal, and People functions. We're looking for someone passionate about building for the future, who thinks strategically, and who will flourish in a collaborative, high-growth environment.

  • Within your first 30 days, you will onboard and dive into Grammarly's current People philosophies, practices, and processes.
  • By month three, you will assume ownership of the partnership and coaching of the functions you are the People Partner for, including Customer Success, Support, Rev Ops and Channel teams.
  • By month six, you will build our management team and leadership’s capacity through coaching and influencing. 
  • By month nine, you will meaningfully contribute to the strategy of the teams you support and to the direction of the People Partner team.
  • Beyond your first year, you will foster excellence in the support, motivation, retention, and growth of our talent. 
  • As Grammarly grows, this role will have growth opportunities supporting our corporate functions or other areas of Grammarly’s business. 

Qualifications

  • Brings 8+ years of experience as a People Partner (HR Business Partner) and related roles; ideally has experience in high-growth pre-IPO tech and operating in companies and teams with global footprints. 
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment in guiding leaders and managers through difficult decisions, balancing the needs of the company and team members. 
  • Applies business acumen and data fluency to advance people-related strategies and programs. 
  • Is an effective partner and coach to managers and leaders; delivers feedback and challenging information in a way that builds trust and collaboration. 
  • Diagnoses talent issues and partners with managers and leaders to implement effective responses. 
  • Knows firsthand the challenges of a growth stage company and supports managers and leaders in effective communication and change management for their teams. 
  • Is a clear, empathetic, and effective communicator who understands differences in others and adjusts their approach accordingly. 
  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Is inspired by our MOVE principles, which are the blueprint for how things get done at Grammarly: move fast and learn faster, obsess about creating customer value, value impact over activity, and embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust.
  • Is able to collaborate in person at our San Francisco hub as needed, including during in-person weeks, which occur 3-4 weeks per quarter.

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.

United States: 

Zone 1: $154,000 – $212,000/year (USD)

Zone 2: $139,000 - $191,000/year (USD)
