As a Localization Program Manager at Datadog, you will manage localization projects across multiple regions, streamline processes for translation, manage vendor relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of localized content.
Summary Generated by Built In

At Datadog we're growing our community of users globally, increasing the amount of customers we have in new and diverse regions. Along with this growth, we're looking to ensure we have localized content ready for our community, and are looking for our first Localization Program Manager. As a Localization Program Manager at Datadog, you will be responsible for the end-to-end process for getting high quality content localized across regions where Datadog has a significant user base.
You will help our teams become more efficient, resolve blockers, coordinate cross-team activities, and lead execution to enable all our teams to localize their content where it is most needed.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:

  • Manage our end-to-end localization projects for 5+ regions (including onboarding new languages and regions as we grow the program)
  • Build and support scalable processes and practices for getting translated content across the regions where we have strong customer bases (i.e. human translation vs AI vs other; review process; how do we ensure quality; tiering and prioritization) that will enable teams at Datadog to get translation needs met
  • Manage vendor relationships and the overall program budget
  • Manage project plans for large, cross team translation projects, and ensure visibility with stakeholders on progress
  • Collaborate closely with our Community teams, Marketing, Sales, Enablement, external stakeholders, and the VP of Community
  • Work with teams translating content to clarify goals and deliverables, and ensuring these are met within required timelines and budget
  • Help break down projects into component parts, identifying and tracking dependencies and opportunities for optimization; proactively identify problems and recommend solutions before they become blockers
  • Identify KPIs and success metrics, collect and analyze data; make information visible
  • Communicate goals, status, risks, and impact to teams and stakeholders;

Who You Are:

  • You have approximately 2-5 years of experience in program management, leading similar initiatives such as large scale conferences and customer education related programs within a similar technical environment (B2B SaaS company), partnering closely with technical stakeholders
  • You have at least 2 years of experience working on localization or translation projects, have familiarity with translation vendors, and processes used to translate and verify quality of translations for technical content
  • You have experience working collaboratively across cross-functional teams; strong leadership and interpersonal skills, experience building and fostering effective working relationships
  • You have strong communication skills, attention to detail and enjoy building processes
  • You take a data-driven approach to program management; building tools (workflows, custom work intake processes, estimation models), collecting and analyzing data, and driving stakeholder buy-in
  • You have experience influencing without direct authority at senior levels internal and external to the organization
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira and Airtable

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
