Life-Cycle Infrastructure Architect

Infrastructure Life-Cycle Software Architect Location: Austin, San Francisco, NYC, Champaign IL, Seattle, Atlanta, Washington DC or Remote US
Cloudflare's Infrastructure Team builds and runs the systems and software that support our solutions that handle trillions of requests per month. We ensure that all of the new and existing features and functionality that Cloudflare offers can be managed at scale and meet the needs of our massively growing customer base.
What you'll do
As Cloudflare continues to scale it is critical that we are looking holistically across our infrastructure and business processes to ensure that we are propelling Cloudflare forward as we expand across our hundreds of data centers world wide. To that end we are in the process of developing a holistic view of our infrastructure that integrates directly into our billing, procurement and other systems. As the architect you will be working across all infrastructure teams including capacity, asset management, hardware, network and infrastructure operations, with the initial focus being on integration to a comprehensive ERP. You will collaborate with these teams as well as architects across other areas of the business to create and build an architecture that will carry us forward to $5B.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

• 10+ years of experience working with distributed systems.
• Experience with process and data modeling for large systems
• Experience in designing and maintaining broadly cross functional systems.
• Excellent collaboration skills
• Proven ability to convey ideas effectively through verbal and written communication
• Ability to translate business needs into requirements, design documents and technical solutions
• Knowledge of API design standards, patterns and best practices
• Proven ability to use data to drive business outcomes
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented or functional design.
• Ability to do quick turn-around prototyping to prove or disprove architectural approaches
• Experience with Core Financial ERP tools such as SAP/Oracle and/or architecting data center infrastructure asset management software

Bonus Points

• Experience debugging, measuring, optimizing and identifying failure modes in a large-scale distributed system.

Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

• For Colorado-based hires and Washington hires: Estimated annual salary of $203,000 - $248,000
• For New York City-based and California (excluding Bay Area): Estimated annual salary of $230,000 - $281,000
• For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $234,000 - $286,000
