The Impact You’ll Make

As the Lead Recruiter for Engineering, you will partner with our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Engineering Leadership Team to design and execute strategic hiring plans that build a world-class Engineering organization. You will focus on fostering a strong recruiting culture, creating scalable hiring practices by empowering leaders, and activating employees' networks. Additionally, you will grow, mentor, and lead the Engineering recruiting team.

We believe that scaling Talent Acquisition effectively requires equipping everyone involved in the hiring process with the necessary skills, tools, and context to make informed decisions. Your role as a strategic leader and advisor is essential in making that a reality.

  • Strategy: Design and implement proactive recruiting strategies to attract world-class talent to the Engineering team
  • Recruiting: Manage the full recruiting lifecycle for Engineering roles, from sourcing and screening to offer negotiation and onboarding
  • Talent Planning: Develop organization-wide talent strategies that address immediate hiring needs while setting Nextdoor up for long-term success
  • Analysis: Use a data-informed approach to enhance recruiting efforts, improve hiring workflows, and drive quality decision-making
  • Team Building: Grow, mentor, and develop a high-impact Engineering Recruiting Team that builds strong, cohesive teams across the organization

What You’ll Bring To The Team

  • 6+ years of full life-cycle recruiting experience and 1+ years of experience leading a team 
  • A strategic, people-first mindset
  • Solid understanding of Engineering domains and the skills required for success in these areas
  • Ability to influence and advise senior leadership on hiring strategies
  • Adaptability and a willingness to engage in a wide range of hiring and People-related topics
  • Experience mentoring and coaching high-performing technical recruiters 

Rewards

Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create our total rewards package. Compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation may also vary by geography.

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $160,000 to $215,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. 

We expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date will take place within 3 months of your start date.
