We are looking for an experienced, talented, and driven Head of Engineering to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable transportation and help us build a world-class engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for our global engineering team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the founders and product team to define, plan, and execute product development roadmaps.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation within the engineering team.
  • Manage and mentor a team of remote engineers, promoting collaboration, professional growth, and work-life balance.
  • Drive engineering best practices, including iterative improvement of features and processes, code quality, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Be hands-on with the codebase, performing code reviews and contributing to the development of key features and architectural improvements.
  • Partner with the founders to recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization, providing regular updates on project progress and technical direction.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in web application development, preferably with experience in our technology stack (Ruby, Rails, Typescript, React, Google Cloud).
  • Experience managing remote, globally distributed teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and experience implementing them in engineering teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams.
  • Passion for sustainable transportation and commitment to our mission of transforming urban mobility.
