About this role: Aligns with senior leadership and unblocks key roadblocks as needed. Oversees the deal desk globally, is a trusted business advisor to sales leaders and finance. Partners with senior leadership to implement and improve deal desk processes and performance. Stands up deal desk and drives enforcement of new commercial policy and approval matrix. Has the authority to approve deals in line with new discounting approval hierarchy. Responsible for price realization on $700M+ of renewals (7K+ deals) and $100M of short cycle revenues. Proposal & Negotiation support for large deals constituting $300M of revenues.

Detailed Key Activities:

  • Oversees program management and analytics
  • Drives continuous improvement
  • Removes roadblocks to implementation milestones
  • Encourages and enforces standardization across segments 
  • Acts as key authority on deal escalation
  • Conducts performance management discussions
  • Provides feedback and manages deal desk team

Deliverables:

  • Fully staffed and functional deal desk in line with implementation targets
  • Deal desk performance dashboard and regular reporting cadence
  • Commercial policy adherence dashboard/reports and regular reporting cadence

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of work experience with minimum of 6 years relevant experience in sales, deal desk and management roles.
  • Strong leadership and communications skills to lead global deal desk team.
  • Excellent execution and planning skills to implement large scale. organization transformation.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work while meeting aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment requiring a flexible work schedule (end of quarter, peak sales activity support needs).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and people management toolkit to drive team performance.
  • Willingness to travel 
  • Prior experience standing up and leading a deal desk in a technology/media company nice to have.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or comparable work experience, MBA degree preferred

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $100,000 - $300,000, which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications, and other business requirements/needs.
