The Datadog Global Events Team is hiring an Event Manager to support logistics planning at our global customer events, as well as develop our expo strategy as we expand sponsorship opportunities regionally. Reporting to the Director of Event Marketing, this role requires 4-6 years of conference and expo management experience. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing workloads on multiple international shows in a fast-paced environment. The role requires 30% domestic and international travel.

What You'll Do:

  • Event Logistics
    • Venue and vendor procurement through RFP and vetting processes. Negotiate favorable terms and costs associated with winning bids. Review contracts for accuracy.
    • Coordinate venue logistics, including meeting specs, catering menus, and AV/Network needs for regional events (often working across time zones).
    • Oversee multiple event vendors, including temp staff, photographers, and destination management companies (DMCs). Tasks include developing schedules, shot lists and production plans.
    • Travel internationally to oversee event logistics and manage on-site execution.
  • Sponsorship & Expo Management
    • Strategize on a year-round sponsorship approach to optimize revenue from partner participation in all 1P events.
    • Expand sponsorship prospectus, introducing new and creative MPO opportunities outside of traditional "medal" sponsor packages.
    • Develop marketing and web assets, service kits, and partner comms with internal marketing teams and external vendors.
    • Draft expo floor plan designs, in collaboration with event leads, to optimize attendee flow and create a high-energy and interactive atmosphere.
    • Lead weekly meetings with cross-functional teams and vendors, providing updates and managing to production deadlines.
    • Manage production deadlines and deliverables for booths, facilitating stakeholder communication and approvals.
    • Oversee the build and management of the Exhibitor Resource Center (ERC) using Cvent.
    • Ensure that all expo activations are linked to clear objectives, maximizing our return on investment, furthering brand awareness, and supporting overall business goals.
    • Own post event reporting and data analysis regarding expo hall activities and make strategic recommendations for future years.
    • Develop repeatable processes that can be leveraged across events.


Who You Are:

  • Events person with 4-6 years of experience in agency and/or corporate event planning.
  • Excited to redesign Datadog's current sponsorship strategy and own our expo hall management, including for our flagship annual conference, DASH.
  • Meticulous logistics planner, who employs project management tools and templates to effectively deliver menus, specs and budgets to vendors, on deadline.
  • Comfortable collaborating with agencies and coordinating multiple types of event vendors.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize deadlines, and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Versed in Cvent (or similar registration platform), Smartsheets, Google Workplace, Jira, Confluence
  • Creative, innovative, and results-driven, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • CMP certification preferred; experience in B2B technology events is highly valued.

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
