Engineering Manager, Media Platform

What you'll do
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead Cloudflare Stream. You will lead a team of passionate, talented engineers that are building innovative products for the next generation of video, livestreaming and other media products. You will play an active part in shaping the product and team. You will make sure our company hits our ambitious engineering goals. You will change the way people build applications.
You bring a passion for meeting business needs with building technically innovative solutions, and excel at shifting between the two-understanding how big-picture goals inform technical details, and vice-versa. You thrive in a fast-paced iterative engineering environment and have experience delivering scalable distributed systems. Most importantly, you have proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

• Technical leadership experience: either managing a team or working as a technical lead. You inspire your team to reach higher. You're as good as explaining "why" as you are "how".
• Solid foundation in computer science and software engineering with strong competencies in software design, and building distributed systems.
• Excel at planning, team building and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability.
• Experience implementing tools, process, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages.
• Comfortable leading teams/projects with tight deadlines and short release cycles.
• Ability to balance feature and operational engineering work.

Bonus Points

• Experience with media handling at scale - images and/or video.
• Experience working in low-latency real time environments such as game streaming, game engine architecture, high frequency trading, payment systems.
• Expertise in data analysis and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Managing contributions to open-source projects.

Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

• • For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $191,000 - $233,000.
  • For New York City, Washington, and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $213,000 - $261,000
  • For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $225,000 - $275,000
