Job Description
As the Director of Strategy & Operations, you will serve as the Chief of Staff to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Engineering and play a critical role in driving the execution of strategic initiatives, streamlining operations, and supporting the leadership team in delivering against key business objectives. This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and strategic thinker who can manage multiple priorities, work effectively across the organization, and serve as a trusted advisor to the SVP of Engineering. In addition to providing direct support to the SVP, you will manage operational functions across the broader Product Engineering organization. This includes ensuring alignment and consistency in processes, optimizing resource allocation, and driving operational excellence across various engineering teams.
- Strategic Support: Collaborate closely with the SVP of Engineering to develop, refine, and implement the organization's strategic plan. Lead the prioritization and execution of high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee and optimize the daily operations of the engineering organization, including resource management, budgeting, and process improvement. Drive operational excellence by identifying inefficiencies, implementing best practices, and ensuring consistency across teams.
- Strategic Projects: Lead and direct large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with significant impact on the organization. Provide strategic oversight and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with successful outcomes. Anticipate challenges and remove obstacles to enable team success. Lead and manage high-visibility special projects as assigned by the SVP of Engineering. These projects often involve significant complexity, sensitivity, and organizational impact.
- Communication & Coordination: Serve as a key communication conduit between the SVP of Engineering and other senior leaders. Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and briefs for leadership meetings. Ensure clear, consistent messaging across the organization.
- Decision Support: Provide strategic insights, data analysis, and decision support to the SVP and other senior leaders. Conduct in-depth research, synthesize information, and deliver actionable recommendations on complex issues.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Represent the engineering organization in key strategic meetings, ensuring that the team's priorities and perspectives are well-articulated and understood.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify key issues and develop solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality, particularly when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage change, and drive organizational success.
  • Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of engineering principles and processes, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in leadership roles within engineering, operations, or business management. Experience as Chief of Staff role or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.


For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $169,500 - $296,500, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
