Position Summary:

The Data Scientist will be responsible for developing and applying advanced analytical techniques to solve complex business problems within the Shared Services organization. This role will involve working with large datasets, building predictive models, and communicating insights to stakeholders across various functions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for leveraging data to drive continuous improvement.  

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Exploration:

    • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various sources within the Customer Excellence organization (e.g., Billing, Collections, Care).

    • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

    • Develop and implement data quality checks and validation procedures.

  • Model Development and Deployment:

    • Design, develop, and implement statistical and machine learning models for predictive analytics, forecasting, and optimization.

    • Evaluate model performance and iterate to improve accuracy and efficiency.

    • Deploy models into production environments and monitor their performance.

  • Data Visualization and Reporting:

    • Create compelling visualizations and dashboards to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

    • Develop and deliver clear and concise reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.

    • Build automated reports to provide ongoing insights and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.  

    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to explain technical concepts and present findings.

    • Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of best practices.

  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to optimize processes and improve efficiency through data analysis.

    • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to address business challenges.

    • Contribute to the development of data governance and data management policies.

  • Staying Current:

    • Keep abreast of the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

    • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data analysis capabilities.  

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Experience in developing and deploying machine learning models.

    • Experience working with large datasets and data warehousing environments.

    • Experience working in a shared services environment is a plus.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.

    • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.

    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.  

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

    • Strong business acumen and ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.

    • Strong organizational skills.

Reasonably expected salary range: $57,400.00 - $71,800.00
