Empowering the People Who Power Our World.
The Role

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

Samsara is looking for a Core Sales Operations leader to play a critical role in scaling systems, processes and policies for our Global Sales organization. This role will partner with senior leaders across Samsara’s go-to-market teams to design, build and run critical business capabilities for our world-class sales organization.  This leader will have an outsized impact on the future of our sales organization by helping us Build for The Long Term as we grow past $1BN in revenue.  The ideal candidate has experience driving transformative initiatives that bring together people, process and technology into elegant solutions to business problems related to all aspects of the pre-sales customer journey.

  • Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • One day you’ll meet with someone in waste management and the next you may be learning about the inner workings of a food distribution center. Our top sales team members seek to learn the ins and outs of the businesses they support in order to make a larger impact.
  • The industries we serve have relied on pen-and-paper solutions for years and haven’t been met with the type of technology we offer. Our customer's value earned trust and human relationships built over time.
  • Samsara’s high-performance culture means you’ll be surrounded by the best and challenged to go farther than you have before.
  • At Samsara, sales is a team sport. We help each other out by sharing best practices and focusing on winning as a team.

  • Partner with our Senior Sales Management team to develop strategies to enable our Global Sales team to scale effectively, including process optimization, process redesign, or development of new process/policies
  • Manage cross-functional programs and projects to deliver new or enhanced capabilities to the sales organization
  • Intake, assess and prioritize requests and improvement opportunities based on business impact and effort to create a long-term roadmap
  • Develop operational measurements to identify business process issues and provide recommendations and solutions to business problems. Identify key opportunities for improvement through quantitative and qualitative insights, and through cross-functional partnership
  • Partner with the Salesforce Systems team to automate workflows and enhance systems processes by providing business requirements and considerations, conducting UAT testing, and leading Sales communications
  • Oversee governance of all Sales Policies across a global sales team; run routine audits to verify compliance at all levels; maintain key documentation regarding our policies and sales processes
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

  • 6+ years of experience in a Sales Operations role or experience in similar growth or operations roles in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to drive organizational change by project managing complex, cross-functional projects
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com and the overall sales technology ecosystem
  • Strong organizational skills and business judgment with the ability to handle projects from end-to-end
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire others and to craft compelling narratives using data
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills to understand sales policies and processes at a company, team and sales rep level
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a top university; business, finance, economic, business, or engineering focus is a plus; MBA is optional
  • Experience as a Salesforce administrator is a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with Product Management and/or Six Sigma best practices a plus but not required
