The Toast Enterprise Risk and Compliance Management Program provides a coordinated, company-wide approach to identify, measure, monitor, mitigate, and treat risks while enabling the business to innovate and deliver quality products and solutions to serve our customers. This includes a dedicated compliance program for commercial lending. 

Toast, Inc. seeks a passionate and detail-oriented financial services compliance Analyst to support the compliance management program for the lending and leasing functions within Toast, including specifically the Toast Capital commercial lending program. This *roll will assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as partner relationships.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

  • Administer the compliance program for the Toast Capital commercial lending program. 
  • Support the identification of issues (including those identified internally or through third-party audits/exams and reviews) and partner with testing resources to track the remediation of those issues.   
  • Conduct marketing material reviews and manage status of submissions.  
  • Participate in recurring internal and external testing exercises, and annual audits.
  • Perform annual review of existing regulatory training, deliver new hire and annual training, and update/create new modules as products change or new regulations are introduced.
  • Monitor and maintain awareness of regulatory changes relative to the Fintech new and existing products and services and work, while maintaining an exhaustive policy library. 
  • Serve on relevant committees; escalate compliance risks, gaps, and observed issues to relevant committees and persons. .
  • Support vendor management including annual reviews of third-party vendors and ad-hoc reviews of new vendors.
  • Assist with program complaint management and reporting. 
  • Facilitate monthly and quarterly reporting.


Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or 6+ years equivalent work experience
  • Experience in a compliance, audit, or testing role preferably at a fintech. Strong familiarity with laws and regulations related to commercial loans and credit cards including specifically ECOA, UDAP and BSA. 
  • Ability to read and apply complex regulatory language, synthesize, and articulate in an easily digestible manner.

  • Strong attention to detail, critical and analytical thinking, decision-making, and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to drive action and build consensus among cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to challenging and changing situations, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Experience with credit card products, and knowledge of consumer regulations such UDAAP, FDCPA, SCRA, TILA, as well as state laws is a plus.
  • Regulatory Compliance Certifications, such as CRCM or similar training.

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

Pay Range

$71,000$114,000 USD
