Why You'll Love This Role

Cribl is seeking a seasoned Communications Manager to join our team and drive our PR program. As the PR lead at one of the fastest growing startups, you will have the opportunity to shape our narrative, work directly with the media, and tell the stories of what makes Cribl Cribl. In this high impact role, you will be responsible for day-to-day management of our PR program, focusing on delivering the right information to our target audience in the places they trust. You will build relationships with the media, our spokespeople, and our customers, partners, and investors to amplify our stories. You will also contribute to programs outside of media relations, including internal communications, content creation for blog and social, thought leadership reports and bylines, and our speakers and awards programs. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to develop and execute successful PR plans, effective and creative writing skills, and the ability to translate our core values (eg. Open and Authentic, and Irreverent, but Serious) into compelling storytelling.

Public Relations and External Communications

  • Day-to-day management of PR and media relations program 
  • Primary manager for external PR agency, including supporting all media outreach efforts, providing resources, reviewing pitches and content, coordinating media interviews, and hosting weekly meetings
  • Lead all spokesperson media prep, including media training, development of briefing books for upcoming interviews, hosting live prep sessions, and providing feedback for continuous improvement 
  • In partnership with agency, draft and seek approvals for all company announcements 
  • Partner with teams across the organization to seek out relevant, timely stories to support larger marketing initiatives and company goals 
  • Manage all metrics reporting in partnership with agency, including trackers for media coverage, media engagements, analyst engagements, and Looker dashboards, and support reporting for QBRs, board meetings, and more 
  • Lead the external speaker’s program and company awards program 
  • Monthly shareouts of insights from PR program, proposing new tactics and messages to implement, and opportunities for greater impact
  • Coordinate with Marketing to ensure media coverage is amplified on owned channels, including social media, website, newsletters, and more 
  • Content creation for other content streams as needed, including blogs, op-eds, and thought leadership content 

Internal Communications 

  • Manage day-to-day internal communications calendar to ensure alignment for all company-wide communications 
  • Support and/or lead content development for key internal comms
  • Partner with stakeholders across the org to define and drive key internal communications messages and initiatives 
  • Support monthly AMAs, including key focus areas and recaps 
  • Partner with Events team to ensure employees are aware of key external events 
  • Maintain authenticity, transparency, and irreverence in all internal communications to align to our core values

As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will Bring…

  • 3-5+ years of communications experience with a focus on media relations; B2B SaaS start-up experience preferred. Experience in the IT and Security industry is a plus. 
  • Experience managing external PR agency 
  • Experience working with executives and spokespeople 
  • A track record of delivering consistent PR results, writing PR content, and communicating with a technical audience. 
  • A deep understanding of the media landscape and key reporters/editors. Personal relationships are a plus. 
  • Comfortable operating with a sense of purpose and urgency, and owning the execution and outcomes of your program
  • Ability to communicate effectively in large and small groups 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, including superior writing, grammar, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Creative, self-motivated, and excited to be a part of a high-performing team 
  • A sense of humor and ability to create irreverent, authentic content
  • This position may require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.


Salary Range ($115,000 - $144,000)

The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
