The Workplace Services Engineer, reporting to the Director of Facilities, will be a self-motivated and task-oriented individual. This role will play a key part in crafting an outstanding employee experience for all Robloxians by assisting with Building and Cafe Operations. The successful candidate will be customer focused, proactive in addressing maintenance and operational needs, and able to work optimally across multiple teams both in-person and through communication tools such as email and Slack.

Role is based in San Mateo working Monday - Friday from 10:00 am - 7:00pm.

You Have

  • 7+ years of experience in Facilities and Commercial Kitchen Operations, including troubleshooting, problem-solving, and vendor management.
  • Strong understanding of building infrastructure systems including electrical, lighting, plumbing, water filtration, refrigeration, and HVAC.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask optimally in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
  • Extensive experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools.
  • Proficiency in using relevant technology for job performance and communication.
  • Knowledge of CalOSHA safety regulations and relevant health codes for Café/Kitchen operations.
  • Strong communication skills and self-motivated.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

You Will

  • Perform Maintenance and Repairs: Repair and maintain cafe equipment, furniture, and building interiors.
  • Manage Logistics: Move, arrange, and transport furniture and equipment.
  • Vendor Management: Supervise and support installers and vendors.
  • Ticket Resolution: Address and resolve Site Services ticket requests promptly.
  • Facility Inspections: Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and address maintenance and safety issues.
  • Work Order Management: Process maintenance work orders and manage planned maintenance schedules.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with property management, engineers, cafe staff, facilities, and service providers.
  • Communication and Organization: Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Flexible Availability: Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.


For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$115,460$142,770 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
