The Role

Description
Define technical roadmaps, develop and validate Battery Electric Vehicle high voltage battery pack (RESS) structures including packaging and protection of battery packs (battery cover, tray, rails, Battery Disconnect Unit, modules, and cells) and interface compatibility with chassis, body in white and underbody structures. Develop, validate, and evaluate new RESS designs, technologies, and requirements from clean sheet of paper up to innovation of mature concepts of RESS structures utilizing steel and aluminum alloys and composite
materials, and to meet Noise and Vibration (N&V), durability, reliability, and fatigue standards and requirements. Perform fillet radius change, section change, pattern, and control block morphing, using HyperWorks, to battery packs structures. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA), using Abaqus, HyperWorks, ANSA, nCode DesignLife, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and VCollab tools, to predict RESS structures stress, strains, and fatigue life from vehicle and driveway twist, lift point, and housing load in various locations within battery pack
Additional Description
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and two (2) years of experience as an Engineer, Analyst, or related role. Must also have experience with: developing and validating product or component designs and requirements of structures utilizing steel and aluminum alloys and composite materials, and to meet Noise and Vibration (N&V), durability, and fatigue
requirements.
