Vice President, Global Head of Marketing

10x Genomics is seeking a strategic and technically adept leader to join our team as Vice President, Global Head of Marketing. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will be instrumental in shaping both marketing and overall commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term vision and growth trajectory. This leader will drive demand generation, market expansion, and product commercialization while building a high-performing marketing organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Market Insight

  • Develop and execute a data-driven marketing strategy that balances immediate commercial objectives with long-term growth.
  • Leverage deep market insights, competitive intelligence, and analytics to shape marketing direction and business decisions.
  • Guide market expansion efforts, shaping new and emerging market opportunities to drive long-term growth.
  • Partner closely with Product Development to ensure successful commercialization, from concept generation and prioritization to positioning, pricing, and go-to-market execution.
  • Develop and lead market development strategies to strengthen product adoption and customer engagement.

Demand Generation & Commercial Execution

  • Build and implement an integrated marketing roadmap that enhances brand awareness and personalized engagement through digital and traditional channels.
  • Lead demand generation initiatives with compelling messaging, content, and multi-channel marketing strategies to drive awareness, preference, and sales.
  • Establish and refine customer segmentation strategies to optimize targeted outreach and maximize impact.
  • Oversee portfolio and lifecycle management strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and evolving market needs.

Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Identify and build critical upstream and downstream marketing capabilities to enhance efficiency and impact.
  • Drive seamless collaboration across functions, including sales, product development, and regional teams, to ensure cohesive execution of marketing strategies.
  • Use data-driven insights to evaluate marketing effectiveness, identify opportunities, and continuously optimize strategies.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, encouraging teams to think beyond immediate needs and contribute to long-term growth strategies.

People Leadership & Organizational Growth

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing global marketing team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Align cross-functional teams around a shared vision, ensuring marketing efforts support broader commercial goals.
  • Implement best practices and processes that enable scalability and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15 years of marketing and commercial leadership experience, ideally within life sciences, biotechnology, or technology sectors, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to deeply understand complex scientific and technological products.
  • Proven success in demand generation, market expansion, and data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a history of leveraging insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading and developing global marketing teams, fostering innovation and collaboration.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

Below is the base pay range for this full-time position.  The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience.  At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package.  This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program. During the hiring process, your 10x recruiter can share more about the Company’s total compensation package.

$295,600$400,000 USD
