Higharc is a VC-backed startup that is changing how new homes are designed and built. Join a founding team who’ve shipped products for Autodesk, Electronic Arts, Nike, and Apple. In 2024, we raised a $53M Series B fundraising round with support from top-notch venture capital firms and more than 18 strategic investors—industry leaders in construction, building products manufacturing, and distribution.

We're looking for a VP of Engineering to lead and scale our talented engineering team in pioneering The Homebuilding Cloud — the only connected platform that revolutionizes how homebuilders design, sell, and build new homes and communities. You will be a member of the executive team and will play a crucial role in executing on our product vision and roadmap.

In this high impact leadership role, you'll maintain the tight-knit dynamic between our Product and Engineering teams as we expand our product portfolio and grow our market share. The VP of Engineering will grow, coach and retain world class talent across different development teams including Product Engineering, Rendering, and CAD. We are a small team of ~25 Engineers and we are taking aim at big goals over the next few years.

We need a leader who can attract and nurture great talent in a distributed work environment. If you've built or led powerful creative tools on the web — editors, design tools, etc — and have a passion for homes, building, or design, we would love to talk to you. This role reports to the CEO (in close strategic partnership with the CTO, this role has clear senior leadership stakes) and can sit anywhere in the continental US.

You’ve led B2B SaaS products that tackle complex problems, targeting mid-market and enterprise customers — if you have SMB experience as well, that’s great. You are commercially oriented and have seen substantial growth from $10-$100M+ ARR. You have an ability to both “do and direct” – you possess a strong desire to delve into the details and engage deeply with customers to develop your strategic point of view first-hand.

We’re looking for product delivery excellence; experience in homebuilding or AEC is not required. If you're a seasoned engineering leader with a passion for driving innovation in home design and construction, we'd love to meet you.

What you’ll do:

  • Run a best-in-class engineering process to maximize work quality and team productivity
  • Manage, motivate and retain Higharc’s (25-strong) engineering organization
  • Create a strong, supportive culture that prioritizes focus and teamwork while rewarding results
  • Partner with our CTO on architecture-level decisions and engineering culture
  • Partner with our leadership team in determining our roadmap and go to market
  • Own the engineering budget
  • Own engineering hiring

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership abilities with natural charisma who can motivate and guide the team
  • Has led execution to ship major products with large user-bases on the web
  • Strong track record as a high performing leader
  • Extensive management experience, of ICs and of managers
  • Experience with a partially or completely distributed team
  • Experience with real-time 3D graphics on the web is a plus

Higharc has been remote first since our founding in 2018. We offer flexible hours so you can do your best work without missing out on life. Higharc offers competitive salaries with significant equity, in a fast-growing, well-funded company. Personal healthiness is an important value for us- we provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with unlimited PTO, and meaningful maternity/paternity leave. You'll also have access to other big-company benefits such like short and long-term disability plans and a 401K. Haven't worked remotely before? We provide a stipend to create the ideal home office.
