Internship Overview

We are looking for interns to join us for our 2025Summer Internship Program! This 12-week program is set to begin June 2nd, so if you are looking for an incredible opportunity to partner with the best and brightest minds in the industry, apply today. This program has been designed with our interns in mind and includes structured learning plans, a dedicated buddy, and a focused capstone project that you will have the opportunity to present in our Internship Showcase!

 

What It’s Like Interning with Us!

  Social Events— just because the internship is remote, doesn’t mean we don’t have time for fun! Recognizing the international nature of the program, we prioritize fostering global connection and networking opportunities among all the interns who participate. In the past, we have hosted remote events such as tie-dye shirt event, tiny camp fire—complete with smores(!!!), a murder mystery party, and so much more

▪ Time with Executives— Interns all get a chance to connect with our executive team through panel discussions, 1:1s, Q&A meetings, and events

▪ Workshops & Leader Connects — Interns all participate in Leader Connects where they get to learn more about Leaders in HCLSoftware, as well as workshops geared towards new professionals

Opportunity to travel – we will be hosting a hybrid orientation! For those that are interested in being in person for orientation, we will fly you to your closest resident office.


Position Overview

As a UI Intern, you will play a key role in transforming our Angular-based data platform into a cross-platform desktop application using ElectronJS. This internship provides hands-on experience in desktop application development, UI/UX optimization, and cross-platform integration. You will collaborate with our engineering team to research, implement, and optimize ElectronJS for a seamless desktop experience. By the end of the internship, you will have built a functional desktop prototype, gaining valuable skills in web-to-desktop application transformation.

 

 

Capstone Overview

The capstone project focuses on integrating ElectronJS with our existing Angular web application to create a cross-platform desktop version of our data platform. The intern will research ElectronJS, set up the environment, and adapt the application for desktop-specific features, such as offline support and native menus. This project will deliver a fully functional desktop prototype with tailored UI/UX optimizations, providing hands-on experience in transforming web applications into desktop solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research and learn the fundamentals of ElectronJS and best practices for integrating it with Angular
  • Set up the ElectronJS environment and integrate it with the existing Angular-based web application for cross-platform desktop support
  • Adapt and optimize the application to support desktop-specific features such as product specific features,  file system access, and native menu integration
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to address challenges and troubleshoot issues in transitioning from web to desktop environments
  • Develop and deliver a functional desktop prototype with UI/UX adjustments tailored for desktop users

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Angular, Node.js and server-side JavaScript development
  • Familiarity with desktop UI/UX principles and designing for desktop environments
  • Coursework or personal projects involving web application development with Angular or similar frameworks
  • Knowledge of ElectronJS or experience building cross-platform applications
  • Strong interest in learning new technologies and staying up-to-date with industry trends in desktop and web development

Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the Country of Employment
