About the Role:

Decagon is looking to hire a Technical Lead Manager, Research who will be responsible for driving technical direction within our research initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our engineering and product teams to design, implement, and optimize machine learning models that power our conversational AI agents. Your work will directly impact the quality and effectiveness of our AI-driven customer support solutions.

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience building and deploying models and 2+ years of experience leading research teams

  • Possess a strong technical foundation with expertise in machine learning, distributed systems, or advanced computing.

  • Have experience driving research from concept to implementation, bridging the gap between theoretical advancements and real-world applications.

  • Enjoy mentoring and coaching teams, fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and technical excellence.

  • Have a track record of collaborating effectively with engineering, product, and leadership teams to align research efforts with company goals.

Even better if you:

  • Stay updated with cutting-edge research in model fine-tuning, transfer learning, and optimization techniques to keep our models state-of-the-art.

  • Possess experience with scaling research teams, defining best practices, and building research roadmaps.

  • Have worked in an environment that bridges academic research and industry application, helping to commercialize new technologies.
