Hi, I’m Brandon, Director of Talent at TLDR.

If you’re reading this, you know that hiring is about more than just filling roles — it’s about shaping the future of a company. I’m looking for a Talent Acquisition Lead who is ready to take ownership of our hiring strategy, build world-class recruiting processes, and help us scale the team that powers TLDR.

This is a high-impact, high-growth role for someone who wants to move beyond just sourcing and scheduling. You’ll be the architect of how we attract, engage, and close top talent, particularly for GTM roles. If you're driven, adaptable, and excited to make a tangible impact, this is your opportunity to grow quickly and take on more responsibility as modern talent acquisition professional.

Who We Are

TLDR is a collective of technical newsletters covering startups, software engineering, AI, cybersecurity, marketing, product management, and more — with over 5 million subscribers. Our mission is to build the paper of record for the tech industry — the trusted source that people rely on to stay informed about trends and developments.

What You’ll Do

  • Implement and iterate your own pipeline strategy – You'll jump right in using what you think is the best outbound strategy to identify and double down on high-impact sourcing channels, building a sustainable talent pipeline with my collaboration.

  • Run High-Impact Outbound Campaigns – Design and execute proactive sourcing campaigns. Understand key talent personas and craft compelling outreach messages to engage top candidates, and maintain a steady pipeline of talent. Continuously analyze conversion rates to refine and optimize campaigns.

  • Act as a Hiring Partner – Great hires start at the top of the funnel. You'll collaborate closely with leadership and hiring managers to anticipate hiring needs. Provide insights into market trends and candidate sentiment. Deliver actionable recommendations to ensure we bring on the best people for each role.

  • Enhance the Candidate Experience – Build and deliver a seamless, engaging recruitment experience from first touch to offer close with automation. Provide candidates with clear, honest insights about TLDR’s mission, culture, and expectations. We hold a high bar.

  • Leverage Data and Technology – Use recruiting data to identify bottlenecks, analyze performance, and refine hiring processes. Familiarity with contemporary tools is a requirement. The ability to test new tools and emerging technology to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making in the hiring funnel is, too.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement – Document your process, refine outreach, and contribute to long-term hiring success. Partner with leadership to make data-informed decisions that drive business growth.

Who You Are

  • A Builder – You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where you can create, test, and analyze.

  • Curious and Growth-Oriented – You seek out learning opportunities and are eager to expand your responsibilities. If you have opinions on emerging talent tech, I want to hear them.

  • Strategic and Analytical – You understand the talent market, leverage data to make decisions, and know how to adjust tactics to drive results. Conversion rates are your jam.

  • Strong Communicator – You can influence and advise stakeholders across all levels of the business, presenting insights clearly and confidently. Let's map markets together.

  • Results-Driven – You’re motivated by impact, and you take ownership of your results. You prioritize initiatives that directly contribute to hiring success. You'll cold email anyone. And they open it. And you can't wait to prove it.

  • Adaptable – You’re comfortable with pivoting quickly, and are energized by building and iterating in a dynamic environment with lots of feedback.

Why You’ll Love It

  • High-Impact Role – Your work will directly shape the future of TLDR’s team and company growth.

  • Career Growth – As we scale, so will your role. For the right person, this could lead to advancement in Talent Acquisition. We're growing 100% YoY. We will be hiring.

  • Remote-First – Work from wherever you’re most productive in North America.

  • Competitive Compensation – Base salary plus performance-based bonuses.

  • Health and Wellness – Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits with a 100% paid option.

  • Unlimited PTO – We trust you to take the time you need. I will ask you when your time off is scheduled.

  • Annual Team Offsite – Collaborate and connect in person — we're going somewhere fun in August 2025

  • 401(k) Plan – Invest in your future with our retirement savings plan.

  • Learning and Development – Access a stipend to further your growth and stay sharp in your craft. I am very active in the recruiting community. I'm looking for a mentee who is equally as a passionate about growing their skills. Want a tool? You got it. Want an intro to the best recruiters in the world. I'm more than happy to make that for you. Tl;dr - I'll put you on the map. You're invited to backchannel me with anyone in the industry.

What We Value

  • Bias to Action – You take initiative and move quickly to get things done.

  • Iterative Improvement – You believe in continuous learning and refining.

  • Clear Communication – You communicate directly, transparently, and effectively.

  • Integrity – You operate with honesty and accountability.

  • Resourcefulness – You find creative solutions and adapt to challenges.

Not the Right Fit If:

  • You prefer working in large, structured recruiting teams — we’re lean and fast-moving.

  • You need rigid processes in place — this role is about building them.

  • You’re not excited about GTM hiring — we need someone passionate about finding top-tier sales and marketing talent. If you want to hire React/Node/Typescript devs this ain't it.

If you’re excited about building, scaling, and making a lasting impact, I’d love to talk.
Let’s shape the future of TLDR together.

See you in the reqs,

Brando ✌️

P.S. Bonus points if you reach out first.
