Strategic Finance Analyst / Strategic Finance Manager

Lunar Energy is seeking a motivated, rigorous finance professional to take on an influential role on our finance team. You will be responsible for owning our company’s three-statement model and developing our financial forecasts. You will work across all departments to ensure the Finance team, the CEO, and the executive team have a full and accurate view of the business. This role will report to the Head of Corporate Development and be directly involved with any capital markets transactions, as well.

This is a full-time, in-person position located in Mountain View, CA.   

On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…

  • Own and run our corporate-level financial models, including our three-statement corporate financial model
  • Forecast key metrics (e.g., revenue, gross margin, working capital) and identify areas of financial opportunity and risk for the business
  • Run sensitivity analyses and scenarios to stress-test resilience of business plans and long-term forecasts
  • Present in our regular strategic finance meetings (cash forecasting, forecast vs. actuals) to the CEO and Executive team
  • Support the strategic finance team’s work tracking, reporting, and communicating key commercial and financial metrics to the Executive Team, Board, and Investors
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams and functions including our commercial, operations, supply chain, and software engineering teams

Desired Skills…

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, including the capability to produce clear and well-structured commercial and financial analysis
  • Fluency in building and auditing three-statement financial models
  • Understanding of key corporate finance concepts including basic accounting, corporate valuation, and cost of capital
  • 2-6 years of experience in a client-facing role in investment banking, financial advisory, or similar corporate finance-intensive roles (e.g., corporate finance role in a relevant business, corporate finance consulting) 
  • Equity and/or debt fundraising experience is an advantage, but not required

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $125,000 - $160,000 USD.

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
