The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer - Salesforce to join our team. This senior-level technical role is focused on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust software solutions using Salesforce technologies. The successful candidate will have an architectural mindset, enabling them to make strategic decisions around system design and optimization. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features, optimize Salesforce implementations, and drive best practices in code quality, architecture, and performance. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves collaborating with diverse stakeholders and mentoring junior engineers. As a Staff Engineer, you will also provide technical leadership and contribute to strategic decision-making for Salesforce-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design

  • Develop detailed architectural designs for Salesforce implementations, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical requirements.
  • Select and recommend Salesforce tools, features, and integrations to optimize performance and scalability.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments of proposed solutions, considering technical constraints, and future growth

Integration & Implementation

  • Lead the integration of Salesforce with third-party applications and internal enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability.
  • Work with REST and SOAP-based web services to facilitate smooth integrations.
  • Oversee the implementation process, collaborating with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate performance bottlenecks, especially when handling large data sets and bulkification processes.
  • Experience in integrating AWS or Azure marketplace with Salesforce is nice to have.
  • Assess and implement as needed Salesforce quarterly release features and adopt to best practice recommendations from Salesforce to ensure scalability and security.

Data Governance & Security

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Implement security measures, including SSO, connected apps access controls to protect sensitive information.
  • Help resolve data visibility, mapping issues and concerns.

General Web Development & Agile Practices

  • Leverage general web development experience h HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to enhance Salesforce customizations.
  • Apply Agile software development methodologies, adapting to changing business requirements and iterative development processes.
  • Select and effectively use various programming methods to solve complex challenges.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Clearly communicate complex technical solutions to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Foster a collaborative attitude, working closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and development teams to ensure alignment.
  • Serve as a bridge between technical and business teams, ensuring shared understanding of requirements and expectations.

Mentoring and Knowledge Sharing

  • Guide and mentor other Salesforce engineers and admins to enhance their technical skills and professional growth.
  • Document best practices and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Salesforce architecture, solution design, and implementation.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Salesforce Platform Developer 1 or 2
    • Salesforce JavaScript Developer 1
    • Salesforce Certified Data Architect
    • Salesforce Certified Application Architect
    • Salesforce Certified Integration Architect
    • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect
    • Salesforce Certified System Architect
    • Salesforce Certified Sharing & Visibility Architect
  • Technical Skills:
    • Extensive proficiency in Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Salesforce CPQ
    • Expertise in Salesforce integration with third-party and internal applications (REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, etc.).
    • Hands-on experience in web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript for Salesforce customizations.
    • Strong knowledge of Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and Flows.
    • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and deployment strategies for Salesforce.
    • Experience handling large data sets and bulk processing within Salesforce.
    • Solid understanding of data modeling, governance, and security best practices.
  • Soft Skills:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable compensation and/or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package, including flexible time off, a comprehensive well-being program with two paid Wellbeing Days and two paid Volunteer Days per year, plus a three-week Work from Anywhere option.

SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:

Base Pay Range: 182,175.00 - 267,190.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 146,550.00 - 214,940.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 132,975.00 - 195,030.00 USD
