Description

We are looking for a Mobile Engineering Lead to join Verily's mobile apps team. Verily's core strategy to advance precision health is by bridging the gap between research and care. Our team is responsible for Verily’s flagship consumer product, delivering warm, personalized experiences for users.

In this role, you will act as the technical lead for developing the next generation in precision health apps across both iOS and Android. You will be responsible for driving technical architecture across iOS and Android and owning the technical roadmap across several mobile development squads. You will also be responsible for mentoring and developing junior engineers, and for sharing your expertise with the team.

To be successful in this role, you should have a deep understanding of mobile development across Android & iOS. You are the right candidate if you are comfortable navigating cross-functional teams and have a strong foundation of mobile development at scale. You will work directly with engineering leadership, product management, UX and clinical to deliver an impactful product.

Responsibilities 

  • Own the vision, design, and development of new mobile feature capabilities.
  • Chart the roadmap for mobile app architecture across Android and iOS with support from individual platform teams.
  • Lead the charge in implementation and set examples of best practices in modern mobile development.
  • Collaborate with backend engineering teams to set technical direction and priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure consistent delivery.

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience in software engineering.
  • 8+ years experience developing modern mobile applications.
  • Experience setting technical direction for a team of engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with both Android and iOS frameworks.
  • Experience working across multiple development teams.
  • Strong communication skills especially with design docs.
  • Passionate about developer UX with a high empathy for users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000 - $247,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
