Job Summary
 

The Staff Accountant functions as a key contributor within the Accounting team and plays a key role in the following accounting functions:

Revenue

  • The Staff Accountant supports the monthly general ledger close process, with a focus on ASC 606 revenue recognition, including ensuring completeness of general ledger transactions, performing analytical reviews of results, and researching variances

  • Directly assist the accounting team in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables and assist with special projects

  • Prepares and reconciles monthly balance sheet accounts, and analyzes general ledger account activity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Company accounting policies

General Ledger

  • Prepares and assists with various tax filings such as sales, property, and municipal.

  • Assists with insurance management and ad hoc requests

  • Assists with lease management

General

  • Assists with external audits by providing necessary support and documentation.

  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

  • Success in this role requires an analytical mindset, self-direction and a strong work ethic for time-sensitive deliverables and close timelines

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, including in a remote work environment, to manage multiple tasks and/or projects with hard deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environment

  • Performs ad hoc duties and analyses as needed

Required Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
● 2+ years of accounting experience
● Excellent accounting and operational skills with strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
● High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOLUP, pivot tables) and accounting software
● The position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, extensive computer use, and phone
interaction; These physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job

Preferred Qualifications
● Netsuite Experience is a plus
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to establish strong partnerships with all levels
of leadership both internally and externally
● Proficiency in accounts payable, close management and lease management workflows similar to
Coupa, FloQast and LeaseQuery

Physical Job Requirements
● May require standing, walking and sitting for extended amounts of time.
● Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination
● Includes full range of body motion.
● Requires corrected vision, hearing and speech within normal ranges. Must be able to effectively
communicate with team members.

The base pay range for this position is $26.40 to $34 per hour. Pay range may vary depending on work location, applicable knowledge, skills, and experience. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off and 401K.
