Job Title: Senior VMware/ Openshift Engineer

Locations: West Coast hours | Remote

SS&C is searching for a skilled VMware/ OpenShift Administrator to manage and optimize our container orchestration platform. As a VMware/ OpenShift Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in deploying, configuring, and maintaining OpenShift clusters while ensuring smooth operation and high availability of our applications. You will collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance our infrastructure and support continuous integration and delivery workflows.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Install, configure, and maintain OpenShift clusters on-premises.
  • Monitor cluster performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
  • Manage user access and permissions within the OpenShift environment.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment.
  • Work with development teams to optimize applications running on OpenShift.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to OpenShift configurations and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest OpenShift and Kubernetes features and best practices.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement best security practices for containerized applications.
  • Conversions from VMware to OpenShift
  • Ability to Manage a VMware environment

What You Will Bring:

  • 4+ years of experience as a VMWare/ OpenShift Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes architecture and components.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and configurations in a containerized environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • OpenShift or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
  • VMware Certifications are a plus.
