As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed — we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day. We have 3.44 PB of RAM deployed across our fleet of C* servers - and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We’re also a mission-driven company. We cultivate a culture that gives every CrowdStriker both the flexibility and autonomy to own their careers. We’re always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role:

As a Sr. Taxonomy Specialist, you’ll play a key role in leading and guiding our product-wide taxonomy. You’ll work across groups to bring together various viewpoints and drive alignment, build consensus, and provide overall governance.

In this new-to-the-company role, you’ll be part of the global product organization and collaborate with our product managers, designers, engineers, tech writers, customer support, data specialists, and learning management. You’ll establish best practices, create decision making frameworks, and procure tooling for our taxonomy.

This role sits within our product design org, but will interface with groups across the company.

About CrowdStrike Design:

CrowdStrike believes the product designer is an equal partner with product management and engineering leads. This means designers own the user experience solution for any project. We look for full stack designers and managers who can bring leadership from the conception phase through the final rollout. Having strong team leaders to guide and support the design teams through the process is key to success. Design at CrowdStrike drives innovation, inspiration, and the future of the product. Craftsmanship, attention to detail, flexibility, and love for great products binds us together as a team.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and coordinate large-scale taxonomy projects with multiple stakeholders across the company

  • Serve as the “voice of taxonomy” in product and engineering projects, and bring together a varied team of stakeholders to gain alignment

  • Partner with engineering, product, and other stakeholders to develop roadmaps for taxonomy and tagging projects

  • Establish processes, governance, and decision-making frameworks for taxonomy standards for both data and user interface, and the connections between the two

  • Effectively champion, navigate, manage, and lead change for enabling product-wide taxonomy adoption

  • Advocate for shared taxonomies and metadata models across organizations, tooling, products, and teams

  • Engage with customers to understand their experiences when it comes to our taxonomies, tagging, and labeling

What You'll Need:

  • Cybersecurity expert, fluent in the language and terminology of cybersecurity

  • Experience working with large-scale taxonomies and metadata models in enterprise software applications

  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning for taxonomy development

  • Understanding of publishing and content management systems

  • Knowledge of information architecture and user experience and how taxonomy impacts the user interface

  • Solid grasp of multilingual taxonomy and localization
