The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including Air Force Space Command, U.S. Strategic Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of services and support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers but also horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation.
We are looking for a Multi-System Space Control Integrator (Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering) that will lead the integration of Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SDACP) and Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) directorate portfolios to deliver a multi-system, end-to-end warfighting capability. Operating within the Aerospace Space Domain Superiority Directorate, you will serve as a technical lead responsible for execution of system of systems engineering, requiring close coordination across SSC and mission partner organizations.
Work Model
This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, California, which requires 100% onsite work.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the integration of complex, system of systems
  • Develop engineering products to identify and close capability gaps and missing system requirements
  • Plan and manage the technical execution of modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts supported by technical staff
  • Develop technical assessments and recommendations to manage identified risks and issues
  • Collaborate closely and effectively with government, Aerospace, and other FFRDC and contractor support personnel


What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for a Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical subject area
  • 8 or more years of experience in relevant engineering/technical/operational aspects of National Security Space systems
  • Familiarity with multi-disciplinary systems engineering activities
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for interactions at all levels of corporate and government leadership
  • Willing to travel domestically approximately 10%
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain additional clearances, which are issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain security clearance.


In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for a Senior Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering include:

  • 12 or more years of experience in relevant engineering/technical/operational aspects of National Security Space systems
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary systems engineering teams
  • Proven experience taking initiative and delivering on commitments

  • Experience with Space Domain Awareness and/or Space Control programs
  • Demonstrated systems engineering success including enterprise level requirements and concept of operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment, foster effective relationships, and be responsive to management/customer requests
  • Proven experience with the development, integration, or operation of DoD and/or IC space and/or ground systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with integrated government, FFRDC, and SETA teams
  • Experience leveraging the breadth and depth of Aerospace ETG technical capabilities and resources
  • Current SAP/SAR access

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
