Amplitude is a leading digital analytics platform that helps companies unlock the power of their products. More than 3,200 customers, including Atlassian, Jersey Mike’s, NBCUniversal, Shopify, and Under Armour, rely on Amplitude to gain self-service visibility into the entire customer journey. Amplitude guides companies every step of the way as they capture data they can trust, uncover clear insights about customer behavior, and take faster action. When teams understand how people are using their products, they can deliver better product experiences that drive growth.

As an organization, we approach challenges with humility, take ownership of our contributions, and embrace a growth mindset that pushes us to constantly improve ourselves, each other, and the value we bring to customers and partners.

Amplitude believes that diversity enables the creation of better products, improves the ability to solve complex problems, and drives more powerful solutions. We strive to create an environment of inclusion—one focused on psychological safety, empathy, and human connection—that will allow employees of all backgrounds to thrive.

Our platform team is responsible for building and maintaining the build, deployment and other productivity tools for other engineers in Amplitude. We are approaching this goal like a normal software development with other engineers as our customers. Our main focus in last year was building a new CI/CD pipeline using Argo toolset while this year’s focus will be building a development and debugging environment for our engineers.

This is a highly technical role with an equal focus on nurturing and strengthening a team of highly experienced engineers, providing people management, and driving projects to successful, on-time and measurable outcomes.

  • Lead the team, taking ideas from concept to implementation by organizing ideas from the team and other engineers (which are our customers).
  • You will lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple projects up to demonstrating the outcomes.
  • Facilitate engineering discussions and mentor others on technical implementation, engineering best practices, and career development.
  • Help other engineers to grow and adopt the new tools and technologies.

  • Have exceptional communication skills and a track record of successful delivery/execution.
  • Believe it’s important for engineering managers to stay close to technical problems and continue to contribute independently, as time allows.
  • Have worked in an engineering management or technical leadership role before. Experience hiring, mentoring, coaching, and retaining engineers at all levels.
  • Having a strong technical background in some tools like Kubernetes and Argo toolset is a must.
  • Consistently make culture choices that positively impact the broader engineering team.

Amplitude is filled with humble, life-long learners who are eager to help one another and the company succeed. Our values of growth mindset, ownership, and humility are core to the way we work: we’re tenacious in the face of challenges, we take the initiative to solve problems that drive our shared success, and we operate from a place of empathy and openness, seeking to understand many points of view.

Amplitude is a digital analytics platform—we help companies capture data they can trust, uncover clear insights about customer behavior, and take faster action. This empowers teams to build better product experiences that drive business growth.
