As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be part of a diverse and talented organization focused on building and maintaining complex web applications for Disney Studio brands. You will be a member of a team building the experiences for some of the most recognizable brands in the world such as ABC, Marvel, Disney, and Star Wars working with modern server-side and web technologies such as JavaScript, Node and React to deliver scalable and elegant solutions for new product features and core site architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop core site functionality using server-side templating and JavaScript.
  • Prototype new features and research applicable technologies
  • Implement best practices to continually increase performance and scalability,
  • Review code and pull requests to ensure product and design specifications are met.
  • Work with product and project management to refine specs and timelines.
  • Partner with other engineering teams to deliver best solutions.
  • Mentor and provide feedback to junior engineers.


Qualifications:

  • Proven understanding of front-end web development technologies and principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating.
  • Experience with task automation (Grunt, Gulp, WebPack) and CSS Preprocessors (Less, Sass).
  • Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Driven and self-motivated.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.


Required Education:

  • BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California and Bristol, CT is $138,900.00 to $186,200.00 per year and in New York, NY and Seattle, WA is $145,400.00 to $195,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
