We’re passionate about empowering people to create beautiful and powerful images, videos, and apps, and transform how companies interact with customers across every screen.
We’re on a mission to hire the very best and are committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity. We realize that new ideas can come from everywhere in the organization, and we know the next big idea could be yours!

Come join us to help invent the future of vector, image, and video authoring, as well as immersive interactive experience creation! Generative AI, along with copilots, is reducing the gap between ideas and production. From imaging, vector design, painting, capture, sculpting, character design, animation, and rendering, the creative landscape is changing.  As an established leader in developing software for creatives, Adobe is well-positioned to lead the next wave in this space.

In this role, you will work very closely with the organization in Adobe Research that invents this technology. You will help align with product teams across Adobe including the Illustrator, Photoshop, Substance, applied ML teams, Design, and more! You will oversee, manage, and closely monitor a portfolio of research projects, shepherding them to successful adoption by Adobe’s products. To be successful at this role, you need to be able to connect the dots, see the big picture, and make sure that all stakeholders are aligned. If you are a problem solver, passionate about the next generation of technology in this space, and can figure out how to make things happen, this could be the role for you!

What You Will Do

  • Oversee, manage, and maintain engagements between Research, Product, Applied ML, and Design organizations, from strategy to tactical execution.
  • Drive the establishment of a joint innovation strategy, objectives, key results, and success metrics, in collaboration with Product and Research leadership.
  • Manage a portfolio of research projects and their associated resource allocations, diving deeper into those requiring additional technical project management, so that the desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Implement and manage a cadence of Product/Research reviews, including strategic priorities reviews, and tactical execution reviews of progress against objectives.
  • Establish and influence adoption of a research project portfolio prioritization framework and implement processes and tools to support it.
  • Establish feedback and metrics systems to assess the value of Research technologies to Product end users, and to assess the Product team satisfaction with the Research partnership.
  • Leverage in depth technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to understand issues, identify their root causes, determine alternative solutions, evaluate them, make recommendations and execute on them.
  • Ensure the efficient running of the organization through on-going improvements to all areas of the research org, from strategy and operations to customer management and communication.
  • Act as a point of contact between the Research org leader and employees / stakeholders, to review requests, and determine and assign the appropriate actions.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field is desired.
  • Significant prior experience in customer-facing roles, project / program management, product management, and working in a technology or research organization.
  • Experience in expertly managing a portfolio of projects (10 or more).
  • Exceptional ability to work at both the strategic and tactical levels, and to deliver desired outcomes despite obstacles.
  • Experience defining, implementing, and optimally executing high-visibility initiatives in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Passion for problem solving and ability to think through problems creatively and systematically, and to identify and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Ability to influence executives, senior leaders, and decision makers, and to gain alignment without direct authority, leveraging data and storytelling.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills, resulting in effective and timely information sharing.
  • Expert ability to translate highly technical jargon into language that a non-technical audience can understand and work with.
  • High degree of curiosity, flexibility, perseverance, teamwork, and self-motivation.
  • Expertise in a variety of productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Wiki, Jira, etc).
