​​About the Role:

Hims and Hers is looking for an experienced, hands-on Technical Accounting senior leader looking to further build and own a core function within the accounting department focusing on all aspects of complex technical accounting transactions and technical accounting policy.  You will lead projects focusing on analyzing and preparing technical accounting memos for complex transactions and the adoption of new accounting standards, developing public company technical accounting policies, and assisting with technical accounting matters relating to SEC reporting.

You Will:

  • Lead technical accounting research, prepare technical accounting memos and communicate technical accounting conclusions to internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Provide interpretation of new GAAP and SEC rules and regulations and their potential effect on the business. Ensure clear and concise written documentation of accounting conclusions and accounting policies.
  • Perform contract review and evaluation of accounting implications.
  • Draft new accounting policies and update existing accounting policies as the business evolves.
  • Train internal accounting team on technical accounting policies.
  • Manage ad-hoc audit and technical accounting policy-related projects.
  • Acts as a liaison between external experts, audit team and internal business leaders relating to significant business transactions. Drive the analysis and accounting processes to accurately record significant business transactions.
  • Address technical accounting matters relating to SEC filings, including but not limited to conducting peer research via Intelligize.
  • Drive resolution to complex accounting issues.  
  • Develop staff by providing ongoing trainings and maintaining strong employee relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements; suggest and implement improvements that would benefit the team.
  • Assist in completing special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including minimum of 5 years in a Big 4 public accounting firm required
  • CPA required
  • Direct experience with the SEC registrants and technical accounting relating to public company operations required
  • Direct experience with PCAOB standards and SOX requirements required
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and remote environment
  • Proven technical understanding of financial accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP), and understanding of and ability to research and apply guidance
  • Strong communication skills required. Able to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong project management skills required
  • Top level critical thinking and analytical skills

The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location. $170,000$190,000 USD
