Department Intro: 

At Micron, our Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) team is pivotal in defining strategies that drive our market and manufacturing operations. We are dedicated to ensuring that our processes are precise, efficient, and world-class, supporting Micron’s ambitious goals and vision. 

Position Overview: 

We are in search of a Sr. Director for Sales and Operations Planning to become part of our vibrant team in San Jose, CA. This position is critical for establishing the direction for our S&OP team, process improvements, and strategies, ensuring the successful implementation of high-quality manufacturing, inventory, and shipment plans. You will play a key role in influencing decisions, collaborating with various teams at all levels including BU and Factory General Managers, Corporate Strategists, Financial Controls, and the Head of Operations, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Business Officer, and representing Supply Chain and Global Ops during our annual planning process. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Influence and collaborate on setting manufacturing and market strategies. 

  • Propose and motivate changes to operations strategy to support and optimize business objectives. 

  • Ensure consistent and high-quality publishing of Micron’s S&OP manufacturing, sales, and inventory projections. 

  • Collaborate with peers to set the strategy for supply chain improvement initiatives based on external research, performance metrics, and updates in company strategy. 

  • Lead executive review forums to approve monthly and quarterly plan changes. 

  • Ensure consistent adherence to and improvement of detailed S&OP processes and procedures. 

  • Lead and develop the S&OP team members and improve their systems and processes to enhance their ability to complete their job responsibilities. 

  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities for planners and drive development goals aligned with company objectives and individual aspirations. 

  • Collaborate with Corporate Strategy to ensure a consistent and cohesive plan spanning 0-5 years. 

  • Develop a successful and viable succession plan. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field. 

  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, operations, or related fields. 

  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • M.S. or MBA in a relevant field or equivalent experience. 

  • Experience in a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environment. 

  • Understanding of S&OP processes and standard methodologies. 

  • Familiarity with advanced planning systems and tools. 

  • Strong project management skills. 

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$190,000.00 - $358,500.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
