Job Description

The Finance Velocity Office at Visa is designed to accelerate our path to building a world-class finance function, shape our transformation strategy, improve our business operations and enhance the impact we make as an organization. Build a foundation that supports the growth and complexity of our business and improves the day-to-day interactions of our Finance teams. Modernize our processes to enable better, faster decision making and drive more timely insights for our clients and business partners. Implement technology to evolve how we work together to achieve meaningful, sustainable change and enable our long-term growth agenda. Ensure a clear and measurable set of KPIs against our Finance OKRs and Scorecard to track, report and recognize key milestones and impact statements for our work product.

The Director Finance Transformation Project Manager will join the Finance Velocity Office to manage high impact projects across the organization, advancing the tools and methodology to build and design capabilities. The right candidate has experience building detailed project plans, facilitating discussions/ meetings to drive accountability, developing stakeholder maps and engagement plans, creating tracking dashboards, using best in class Project Management tools and playbooks.

Essential Functions:

  • Project Management: Ability to plan, execute and deliver projects on time. Lead initiative teams, guide them through charters, business cases, roadmaps, metric reporting etc.
  • Ownership of Initiative Deliverables: Own trackers, tools and templates (e.g., templates for charters, business cases) for initiatives broadly as part of Program Management office and specifically lead and drive high priority initiatives.
  • Facilitate governance: Maintain schedules for key touch points and facilitate meetings. Circulate email communications for transformation as needed.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate project status to stakeholders regularly. Set clear expectations with business partners and manage day-to-day interactions during project execution and delivery. Able to succinctly share status updates and communicate any project issues, risks to an executive audience and build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Issue resolution: Proactively identify, manage and mitigate project risks and find ways to accomplish project goals. Drive predictive, forward-looking view of performance, and escalate issues with stakeholders for resolution.
  • Project Management Playbook: Define and document new or improved project management processes, templates, and tools. Drive consistency in approach across transformation with reporting mechanisms for leadership, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Support as-needed surge asks: Drive ad hoc analysis (e.g., pressure-testing, progress tracking etc.) for leadership as requested

Successful Qualities:

  • Business acumen: Understanding of company and Finance strategy, how transformation ambitions link to the specific initiatives.
  • Strong voice for issue resolution: Active role in driving cross-initiative and cross-functional intervention for resolution of challenges.
  • Strong communication: Verbal and written communication, presentation, collaboration and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in and influence change at all levels. An ability to influence without direct authority, as well as demonstrate an appropriate level of assertiveness, is critical. Proven strong communication with senior leadership to provide transparency and drive clear accountability for ownership of activities and milestones.
  • Change championing: Engage and activate leaders and stakeholders towards change, driving positive sentiment and willingness towards transformation.
  • Self-Starter: Working with limited direction, usually within a complex and evolving environment, to drive delivery of solutions while influencing cultural change. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to resolve scheduling and other conflicts to meet all deadlines.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
•12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10
years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA
/JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
•15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of
experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with
9+ years of experience
•15+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, MBA and/or
project, change management, Lean, Six-Sigma, Agile certifications a plus
•Relevant experience in FP&A strongly preferred
•MBA strongly preferred
•Project Management certification(s) preferred
•Experience in directly relevant program or project management roles in
portfolio and program management, business analysis, planning and
operations, or related functions.
•Strong process orientation, solid understanding of project management
techniques, methodologies, best practices and management through tools
•Demonstrated organizational, planning and analytical skills, including project
scheduling, estimating, risk identification, and change management
•Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, and demonstrated ability to
effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions across
multiple organizational levels
•High level of attention to detail, including the ability to assess, and synthesize
large amounts of content and data related to program status, issues, risks,
dependencies, and schedules and distill it in crisp, clear language appropriate
for a variety of audiences.
•Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to
adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
•Ability to work independently, yet seamlessly integrate activities and
collaborate effectively within a program team and across other organizations
•Ability to influence without direct authority to achieve necessary goals
•Ability to work optimally with other functional areas and understand the
operational and cultural issues relevant to achieving outstanding results
•Experience in Finance or Financial Planning & Analysis team with a detailed
understanding of financial accounting and management reporting a plus
•An out-of-the-box problem solver with solid analytics, problem solving skills
who is passionate about brainstorming innovative ways to strategically answer
business problems
•Thrives in an environment that is fast-paced, constantly evolving, and
relationship oriented

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 188,400.00 to 273,250.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
