Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer

Full-time, Remote

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (Sr. Manager Equivalent) to join our team. This role is integral to our business intelligence strategy, delivering actionable insights that drive critical business decisions.

Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, this position will work cross-functionally to design, develop, and manage scalable BI solutions using Power BI, Snowflake, Azure Analysis Services, and other tools.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with SQL, BI tools such as Power BI (DAX) or Tableau, and advanced proficiency in Snowflake, Python, and GitHub. Background in consumer facing multi-unit industry is critical along with a strong understanding of internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Strategy & Insights:

  • Develop and maintain BI solutions that support strategic business objectives.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable data models, dashboards, and reports.
  • Provide actionable insights to stakeholders by analyzing large datasets across multiple business functions.

BI Tools Management:

  • Design, develop, and manage visualizations and dashboards in Power BI.
  • Train and support end-users to maximize the value of BI tools.

Database & Data Warehouse Management:

  • Support the performance and integrity of our data warehouse (Snowflake).
  • Collaborate with data engineers to define and maintain ETL pipelines and ensure data accuracy.

Advanced Analytics & Automation:

  • Leverage Python to automate data processes.
  • Implement version control best practices using GitHub.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Partner with stakeholders across departments, including Finance, Marketing, and Operations, to deliver tailored BI solutions.
  • Act as a mentor and subject matter expert within the BI team, despite the role not currently having direct reports.
  • Represent the BI function in cross-functional projects and business reviews.

Governance & Compliance:

  • Maintain data security and compliance standards, especially within a publicly traded company environment.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance policies and best practices.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a pre-IPO or publicly traded company.
  • Consumer facing multi-unit experience required.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced SQL expertise for data analysis and transformation.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI (DAX) or Tableau, with the ability to design intuitive dashboards and visualizations.
  • Strong experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning and data modeling.
  • Python scripting for data manipulation and analytics.
  • GitHub for version control and collaboration.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires the ability to remain stationary at a desk with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation range is $110-120k + bonus based on qualifications, experience, and performance.  Full-time employees at Sky Zone enjoy a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage along with a 401k plan with company matching.  Eligibility for 401k is based on age and tenure requirements.
