The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept to architecture design to performance assessment to application of space-enabled mission effects.
The Enterprise Design Subdivision welcomes intrepid systems engineers and architects who relish tantalizing, complex challenges to apply for our team. If you're selected, you'll join one of our departments as you drive innovations for the nation. You will help the team turn impossible into reality!
The Enterprise Design Subdivision (EDS) designs solutions that meet our customer's most pressing mission needs and yield decisive space advantages for the nation. As a member of this dynamic team, you'll drive responsive and comprehensive trades across the system, mission, and portfolio levels. You'll collaborate across disciplines, leveraging concurrent engineering and multi-objective optimization capabilities to design space, ground, and communication network concepts and architectures. You'll innovate, not only with bespoke designs, but also harnessing the best capabilities from commercial and international partners. You'll ask the right questions to expand decision options and accelerate delivery of mission end effects.
Work Model:
This position follows an in-person work model in El Segundo CA, Colorado Springs CO, Chantilly VA, or Albuquerque NM.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Ensure the successful design of innovative space systems or mission architectures and effective integration into an end-to-end enterprise architecture
  • Guide and harmonize the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team, including cutting-edge science and technology elements
  • Monitor and coordinate among a wide range of geographically diverse technical activities
  • Serve as an integration leader in a multi-organization team, while leveraging Aerospace's technical depth across all relevant disciplines
  • Resourcefully solve vexing problems, creatively mitigate risks, and persistently overcome obstacles, so that the team delivers


What You Need To Be Successful
Minimum Requirements for Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field
  • A minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, with a strong command of systems engineering principles
  • Experience in system or enterprise architecting, systems engineering, concept design, and/or model-based systems engineering
  • Experience organizing and leading cross-functional, cross-organizational teams to execute projects or studies
  • Exceptional interpersonal verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to support periodic travel within the continental United States
  • Current TS security clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.


In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Sr. Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering include:

  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience
  • Experience with DoD and/or IC systems design and space mission architectures
  • Proven ability to collaborate with discipline experts to develop technical positions, provide risk assessments, and formulate courses of action
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative on-site work environment


How You Can Stand Out

  • Master's and/or Ph.D. in engineering, science, or a related technical field
  • Demonstrated experience with system design, optimization, CONOPS, development, mission engineering, integration, and/or test
  • Demonstrated experience with model-based systems engineering at the system (e.g., SysML) and/or system-of-systems (e.g., UAFML) level
  • Demonstrated boundary-spanning leadership, leveraging influence to realize integration outcomes
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a collaborative team environment with government customers, contractors, FFRDC, and SETA personnel
  • Experience and familiarity with DoD, Air Force, or IC acquisitions and operations
  • Experience working in an engineering matrix organization
  • Current and active TS/SCI security clearance


We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
