Solutions Engineer, MSSP

As a Sumo Logic MSSP Solution Engineer, you will support our Managed Service Security MSSPs' (MSSP) sales and sales engineering teams in understanding Sumo Logic's platform, our value proposition, and how to position our platform in the market. You will function as the primary technical point of contact between Sumo Logic and our MSSP ecosystem.

You will take a consultative approach in helping our MSSP’s technical and sales personnel drive alignment between prospects' needs and Sumo Logic's platform. You will serve as a product and industry expert, effectively describing and demonstrating our solution and promoting our vision and approach. You will be our MSSP trusted point of contact.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as a subject matter expert in use cases across Log Analytics, Observability, and Security
  • Recruit new MSSPs together with Sumo MSSP Sales Managers to identify and recruit new wins
  • Execute efficient Proof of Value engagements with prospective Service Providers
  • Enable existing MSSPs to conduct virtual and in-person demonstrations of the Sumo Logic service for prospective MSSPs, focused on working backward on the problems we solve for their customers and prospects 
  • Support MSSP business plan design, implementation, and execution of best practices for MSSPs
  • Communicate customer feedback and requirements from MSSPs to Product Management, Engineering, Customer Service, and other groups within Sumo Logic.
  • Attend and present at MSSP and marketing events related to our ecosystem
  • Contribute to blogs and white papers related to the Sumo MSSPs' solutions

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Three years of experience selling, supporting, and/or implementing enterprise solutions with MSSPs
  • Experience with SIEM’s and/or cybersecurity solutions
  • Experience working with any of the big three cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience writing data analytics queries of some type ( Sumo Logic, Splunk, SQL, Kibana, etc..)
  • A broad background in enterprise technology, including servers, networking devices, SaaS solutions, and Cloud platforms
  • Experience with scripting languages (eg. Python and/or Powershell), using regular expressions, working with REST APIs, and working with JSON
  • Deep experience working directly with customers and/or MSSPs to understand their problems from a technical and business standpoint and ensure their goals are being met
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as business and technical acumen
  • Experience delivering technical training
  • Experience in the area of log management and/or security
  • Ability to travel in your assigned region up to 50% in North and Central America

Sumo Logic Privacy Policy. Employees will be responsible for complying with applicable federal privacy laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies related to data protection.

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $107,000 - $145,000. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards. 

Must be authorized to work in the United States at time of hire and for duration of employment. At this time, we are not able to offer nonimmigrant visa sponsorship for this position.
