About This Role

As a Senior Mobile Software Engineer in the OutSystems R&D, you’ll be a member of the group of teams responsible for developing the next generation of mobile capabilities of our platform components.

What You Will Lead

  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver mobile solutions that align with business goals;

  • Engage in architectural discussions and ensure OutSystems mobile applications are scalable, secure, and maintainable, while optimizing for performance;

  • Enhance and optimize the platform's ability to generate high-quality code for Android and iOS;

  • Implement best coding practices by conducting code reviews, writing tests, and integrating automated testing strategies to ensure high-quality code;

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering growth and learning within the team;

  • Design and implement features that simplify complex mobile development tasks for OutSystems developers;

  • Contribute to the Capacitor framework and other OSS projects, including bug fixes, feature development, and performance optimizations;

  • Produce and test code in short cycles, with a high degree of automation;

  • Gather feedback from end-users and adapt your solutions;

  • Focus on developing maintainable solutions that scale to thousands of users;

  • Knowledge of product development best practices, continuous delivery, and testing;

  • Last-line troubleshoot of complex incidents created by the solutions developed in your team, having on-call support rotation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar. If you do not have one but you are really good (and can show it), we still want to hear from you;

  • 5+ years of software development experience;

  • Knowledge of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, and Object-Oriented Design;

  • Strong understanding of native iOS and Android development, including platform-specific APIs;

  • Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS and/or .NET, Kubernetes, Docker.

  • Passion to analyze and design elegant solutions for high-tech problems;

  • Passionate about learning and helping others find their way in complex subjects;

  • Great troubleshooting skills;

  • Continuous delivery and testing techniques;

  • Drive to innovate and bring development best practices into your team;

  • Drive to understand what are the upcoming technologies and frameworks;

  • Availability be part of the 24x7 on-call rotation;

  • Experience developing developer tools, SDKs, or libraries for mobile platforms;

  • Strong proficiency in Android (Java, Kotlin) or iOS (Swift, Objective-C) development;

  • Experience with Capacitor or similar cross-platform frameworks (strong plus);

  • Contributions to open-source projects or frameworks is a plus;
