As a Software Engineer on our Interoperability team, you will help our creators bring 3D content in and out of Roblox. You’ll help build the tools that empower internal teams for a myriad of impactful builder journeys from ML to 3D previews. Our end goal as a team is to create solid engineering / product foundations and to drive industry defining innovations that will enable the creators of tomorrow. This role is based in San Mateo, CA.

You Have:

  • 1-3 years of experience developing a wide array of software products.
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Lua or C++.
  • A proven track record of problem-solving and delivering flawless software solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with the Interoperability team to develop tools that empower internal teams and creators for a myriad of impactful builder journeys from ML to 3D previews.
  • Work on the Roblox Asset Manager, enabling artists and creators to select the content to bring into their experiences.
  • Enable Roblox creators and developers with the importing, exporting, and management of 3D content.
  • Be part of a tightly-knit, high-performing, multi-functional team consisting of a mix of Early-in-Career engineers to Principal engineers.
  • Contribute to crafting solid engineering and product foundations to drive industry-defining innovations.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$175,100$175,100 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).

Hybrid Workspace

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.

We are requiring employees to be in the office three days a week – with core days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Mondays and Fridays, employees may choose to work remotely, although the office will still be open.
